10 Woe is me, my mother, that you have borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole earth! I have not lent, neither have men lent to me; yet everyone of them does curse me.
16 Your words were found, and I ate them; and your words were to me a joy and the rejoicing of my heart: for I am called by your name, Yahweh, God of Armies.
17 I didn’t sit in the assembly of those who make merry, nor rejoiced; I sat alone because of your hand; for you have filled me with indignation.
18 Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable, which refuses to be healed? will you indeed be to me as a deceitful brook, as waters that fail?
19 Therefore thus says Yahweh, If you return, then will I bring you again, that you may stand before me; and if you take forth the precious from the vile, you shall be as my mouth: they shall return to you, but you shall not return to them.
20 I will make you to this people a fortified brazen wall; and they shall fight against you, but they shall not prevail against you; for I am with you to save you and to deliver you, says Yahweh.
21 I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you out of the hand of the terrible.

10 Gorje mi, moja mati, da si me rodila, moža, ki je v sporu in prepiru z vso deželo! Nisem posojal in niso mi posojali, vendar me vse preklinja.

16 Če so prišle tvoje besede, sem jih požiral,
tvoja beseda mi je bila v radost
in veselje srca,
kajti tvoje ime je priklicano name,
GOSPOD, Bog nad vojskami.
17 Nisem sedèl v krogu veseljakov,
da bi se zabaval;
spričo tvoje roke sem sedèl samoten,
ker si me napolnil s togoto.
18 Zakaj je moja bolečina brezkončna
in moja rana neozdravljiva,
da se ne more zaceliti?
Postal si mi varljiv hudournik,
voda, na katero se ni mogoče zanesti.
19 Zato tako govori GOSPOD:
Če se spreobrneš, storim, da se vrneš
in boš spet stal pred menoj.
Če boš izrekal tehtne besede, nič plehkega,
boš kakor moja usta.
Oni se morajo obrniti k tebi,
ti pa se ne smeš obrniti k njim.
20 Tedaj naredim iz tebe
z bronom utrjen zid proti temu ljudstvu.
Bojevali se bodo proti tebi,
pa te ne bodo premagali,
ker sem jaz s teboj,
da te rešim in osvobodim,
govori GOSPOD.
21 Osvobodim te iz rok hudobnih
in odkupim iz pesti nasilnikov.

mogočniki se shajajo zoper mene,
to ni moje hudodelstvo, ne moj greh, o GOSPOD.
5 Ne da bi bil kriv, tekajo in se pripravljajo;
zbudi se, pridi mi naproti in glej!
