1 In those days was Hezekiah sick to death. Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came to him, and said to him, Thus says Yahweh, Set your house in order; for you shall die, and not live.
2 Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall, and prayed to Yahweh,
3 and said, Remember now, Yahweh, I beg you, how I have walked before you in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in your sight. Hezekiah wept sore.
4 Then came the word of Yahweh to Isaiah, saying,
5 Go, and tell Hezekiah, Thus says Yahweh, the God of David your father, I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears: behold, I will add to your days fifteen years.
6 I will deliver you and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria; and I will defend this city.
21 Now Isaiah had said, Let them take a cake of figs, and lay it for a plaster on the boil, and he shall recover.
22 Hezekiah also had said, What is the sign that I shall go up to the house of Yahweh?
7 This shall be the sign to you from Yahweh, that Yahweh will do this thing that he has spoken:
8 behold, I will cause the shadow on the steps, which is gone down on the dial of Ahaz with the sun, to return backward ten steps. So the sun returned ten steps on the dial whereon it was gone down.

Ezekíja zboli in ozdravi
Glej, pridal bom tvojim dnem petnajst let.

skozi vrata podzemlja,
oropan bom ostanka svojih let.
11 Rekel sem: Ne bom gledal GOSPODA BOGA
v deželi živih,
ne bom več videl človeka
med prebivalci večnega pokoja.
12 Moj dom bodo izruvali in odnesli proč
kakor pastirski šotor.
Komaj sem svoje življenje navil kakor tkalec,
me bo odrezal od osnutka,
od jutra do večera me boš pokončal.

okrepil si me in me poživil.

Evangelij po Mateju
Mt 12,1-8Mt 12,1-8

1 At that time, Jesus went on the Sabbath day through the grain fields. His disciples were hungry and began to pluck heads of grain and to eat.
2 But the Pharisees, when they saw it, said to him, “Behold, your disciples do what is not lawful to do on the Sabbath.”
3 But he said to them, “Haven’t you read what David did, when he was hungry, and those who were with him;
4 how he entered into the house of God, and ate the show bread, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for those who were with him, but only for the priests?
5 Or have you not read in the law, that on the Sabbath day, the priests in the temple profane the Sabbath, and are guiltless?
6 But I tell you that one greater than the temple is here.
7 But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.
8 For the Son of Man is Lord of the Sabbath.”

Učenci v soboto smukajo klasje
1 V tistem času je šel Jezus v soboto skozi žitna polja. Njegovi učenci so postali lačni. Začeli so smukati klasje in jesti.
