1 Now the days of David drew near that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying,
2 I am going the way of all the earth: be you strong therefore, and show yourself a man;
3 and keep the charge of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his ordinances, and his testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that you may prosper in all that you do, and wherever you turn yourself.
4 That Yahweh may establish his word which he spoke concerning me, saying, If your children take heed to their way, to walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail you a man on the throne of Israel.
10 David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.
11 The days that David reigned over Israel were forty years; seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty-three years reigned he in Jerusalem.
12 Solomon sat on the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established greatly.

Davidova navodila Salomonu
1 Ko se je Davidu približal čas smrti, je dal naročila sinu Salomonu in rekel: 2 »Odhajam na pot vsega zemeljskega; bodi torej močan, bodi mož! 3 Drži se postave GOSPODA, svojega Boga, da boš hodil po njegovih potih in se držal njegovih zakonov, zapovedi, odlokov in pričevanj, kakor je pisano v Mojzesovi postavi; da boš imel srečo pri vsem, kar boš delal, in pri vsem, česar se boš lotil. 4 In Bog bo držal besedo, ki jo je govoril o meni, rekoč: ›Če bodo tvoji sinovi pazili na svojo pot, da bodo hodili pred mojim obličjem v zvestobi, z vsem srcem in z vso dušo, ne bo nobeden izmed tvojih odstranjen z Izraelovega prestola.‹

Davidova smrt
10 Potem je David legel k svojim očetom in bil pokopan v Davidovem mestu. 11 Davidovo kraljevanje nad Izraelom je trajalo štirideset let: v Hebrónu je kraljeval sedem let, v Jeruzalemu pa triintrideset let. 12 Tako je Salomon sédel na prestol svojega očeta Davida in njegova kraljevska oblast se je zelo utrdila.

Davidova molitev
10 Tedaj je David slavil GOSPODA vpričo vsega zbora; David je rekel: »Slavljen GOSPOD, Bog našega očeta Izraela, od vekov na veke! 11 Tvoji, o GOSPOD, so veličina, moč, čast, sijaj in veličastvo. Tvoje je namreč vse, kar je v nebesih in na zemlji. Tvoje, o GOSPOD, je kraljestvo in ti se vzdiguješ kot glava nad vse. 12 Od tebe prihajata bogastvo in slava in ti gospoduješ nad vsem. V tvoji roki sta moč in oblast in v tvoji roki je, da narediš vse veliko in močno.

7 He called to himself the twelve, and began to send them out two by two; and he gave them authority over the unclean spirits.
8 He charged them that they should take nothing for their journey, except a staff only: no bread, no wallet, no money in their purse,
9 but to wear sandals, and not put on two tunics.
10 He said to them, “Wherever you enter into a house, stay there until you depart from there.
11 Whoever will not receive you nor hear you, as you depart from there, shake off the dust that is under your feet for a testimony against them. Assuredly, I tell you, it will be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of judgment than for that city!”
12 They went out and preached that people should repent.
13 They cast out many demons, and anointed many with oil who were sick, and healed them.

7 Poklical je k sebi dvanajstere in jih začel pošiljati po dva in dva. Dajal jim je oblast nad nečistimi duhovi 8 in jim naročil, naj razen palice ne jemljejo na pot ničesar, ne kruha ne popotne torbe ne denarja v pasu, 9 obujejo naj sandale in naj ne oblačijo dveh oblek. 10 Govoril jim je: »Kjer koli stopite v hišo, ostanite tam, dokler ne odidete. 11 Če vas kakšen kraj ne sprejme in vas ne poslušajo, pojdite od tam in si otresite prah z nog, njim v pričevanje.« 12 In šli so ter oznanjali
, naj se spreobrnejo. 13 Izgnali so tudi veliko demonov in veliko bolnikov mazilili z oljem ter jih ozdravljali.
