naj daruje večnemu Očetu svojega Božjega Sina, vsega okrvavljenega, vsega raztrganega za spreobrnjenje grešnikov; to je najboljša molitev, ki jo lahko molimo, kajti vse molitve se opravljajo v imenu in po zasluženju Jezusa Kristusa.
Vsakič, ko sem prejel kako milost, sem jo prosil na ta način; nikoli ni bilo zaman.”

Paul’s Second Letter to Timothy
1
1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, according to the promise of the life which is in Christ Jesus,
2 to Timothy, my beloved child: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 I thank God, whom I serve as my forefathers did, with a pure conscience. How unceasing is my memory of you in my petitions, night and day
4 longing to see you, remembering your tears, that I may be filled with joy;
5 having been reminded of the unfeigned faith that is in you; which lived first in your grandmother Lois, and your mother Eunice, and, I am persuaded, in you also.
6 For this cause, I remind you that you should stir up the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
7 For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
8 Therefore don’t be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner; but endure hardship for the Gospel according to the power of God,

1 Pavel, po Božji volji apostol Jezusa Kristusa, zaradi obljube življenja, ki je v Kristusu Jezusu, 2 ljubljenemu sinu Timóteju: milost, usmiljenje in mir od Boga Očeta in Kristusa Jezusa, našega Gospoda.
Vdanost evangeliju
3 Hvaležen sem Bogu, ki mu služim s čisto vestjo kakor moji predniki, ko se te neprenehoma, noč in dan spominjam v svojih prošnjah. 4 Kadar se spomnim tvojih solzá, si silno želim, da bi te videl, da bi me navdalo veselje. 5 Spominjam se namreč iskrene vere, ki je v tebi in ki sta jo prej imeli tvoja stara mati Loída in tvoja mati Evníka. Prepričan pa sem, da jo imaš tudi ti.
6 Zato te opominjam, da znova razplameniš Božji milostni dar, ki je v tebi po polaganju mojih rok. 7 Bog nam ni dal duha boječnosti, temveč duha moči, ljubezni in razumnosti. 8 Nikar se torej ne sramuj pričevanja za našega Gospoda. Pa tudi mene, ki sem zaradi njega jetnik, se ne sramuj, ampak z menoj trpi za evangelij, oprt na Božjo moč.

32 A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, “Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters TR omits “your sisters” are outside looking for you.”
33 He answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?”
34 Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers!
35 For whoever does the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.”

31 Tedaj so prišli njegova mati in njegovi bratje. Stali so zunaj, poslali ponj in ga poklicali. 32 Okrog njega je sedela množica in so mu rekli: »Glej, tvoja mati, tvoji bratje in tvoje sestre so zunaj in te želijo.« 33 Odgovoril jim je: »Kdo je moja mati in kdo so moji bratje?« 34 In ozrl se je po tistih, ki so sedeli okrog njega, in rekel: »Glejte, to so moja mati in moji bratje! 35 Kdor namreč uresničuje Božjo voljo
