40 1 Comfort you, comfort you my people, says your God. 2 Speak comfortably to Jerusalem; and cry to her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins. 3 The voice of one who cries, Prepare you in the wilderness the way of Yahweh; make level in the desert a highway for our God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain: 5 and the glory of Yahweh shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it. 9 You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain; you who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength; lift it up, don’t be afraid; say to the cities of Judah, Behold, your God! 10 Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him. 11 He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and will gently lead those who have their young.

Bog bo rešil svoje ljudstvo

40

1 Tolažite, tolažite moje ljudstvo,
govori vaš Bog.
2 Govorite hčeri jeruzalemski na srce
in ji kličite,
da je njena tlaka dokončana,
da je njena krivda poravnana,
ker je prejela iz GOSPODOVE roke
dvojno kazen za vse svoje grehe.


3 Glas kliče:
V puščavi pripravite pot GOSPODU,
zravnajte v pustinji cesto našemu Bogu!
4 Vsaka dolina naj se vzdigne
in vsak hrib in grič naj se poniža,
kar je vijugasto, naj bo ravno,
in grebeni naj bodo ravnina.
5 Razodelo se bo GOSPODOVO veličastvo
in videlo ga bo hkrati vse meso,
kajti GOSPODOVA usta so govorila.

Hči sionska – znanilka veselja
9 Povzpni se na visoko goro,
znanilka veselja, Sion,
močno povzdigni svoj glas,
znanilka veselja, Jeruzalem,
povzdigni ga, ne boj se!
Povej Judovim mestom:
»Glejte, vaš Bog!
10 Glejte, Gospod BOG prihaja z močjo,
njegov laket vlada zanj.
Glejte, njegovo plačilo je z njim,
njegovo povračilo pred njim.
11 Kakor pastir pase svojo čredo,
jo zbira s svojim laktom,
jagnjeta nosi v svojem naročju,
počasi vodi doječe.«

1 Slávi, moja duša, GOSPODA.
GOSPOD, moj Bog, zelo si velik,
veličastvo in sijaj si oblekel.
2 Ogrinjaš se s svetlobo kakor s plaščem,
razpenjaš nebo kakor šotor.
3 Na vodah postavlja gornje sobe,
iz oblakov dela svoj voz,
hodi na perutih vetra.
4 Vetrove dela za svoje poslance,
za svoje služabnike plamteč ogenj.

24 Kako veliko je tvojih del, o GOSPOD!
Vsa si naredil z modrostjo,
zemlja je polna tvojih ustvarjenih bitij.


25 To morje, veliko in širokih rok,
tam so plazilci brez števila,
majhne in velike živali.


27 Vsa ta bitja čakajo nate,
da jim daš hrano ob pravem času:
28 daješ jim, pobirajo,
odpreš svojo roko, nasičena so z dobrinami.
29 Skriješ svoje obličje, prestrašijo se,
Vzameš jim dih, preminejo,
in se v svoj prah povrnejo;
30 pošlješ svoj dih, ustvarjena so,
in prenoviš obličje zemlje.

15 Ker pa je ljudstvo živelo v pričakovanju in so se v srcu vsi spraševali o Janezu, če ni morda on Mesija, 16 je Janez vsem odgovoril: »Jaz vas krščujem v vodi, pride pa močnejši od mene, kateremu nisem vreden odvezati jermenov njegovih sandal; on vas bo krstil v Svetem Duhu in ognju.

21 Ko je vse ljudstvo prejemalo krst in je bil tudi Jezus krščen ter je molil, se je odprlo nebo. 22 Sveti Duh je prišel nadenj v telesni podobi kakor golob in zaslišal se je glas iz neba: »Ti si moj ljubljeni Sin, nad teboj imam veselje.«

If we love one another, God remains in us, and his love has been perfected in us. 13 By this we know that we remain in him and he in us, because he has given us of his Spirit. 14 We have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as the Savior of the world. 15 Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God remains in him, and he in God. 16 We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. 17 In this love has been made perfect among us, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment, because as he is, even so are we in this world. 18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment. 11 Ljubi, če nas je Bog tako vzljubil, smo se tudi mi dolžni ljubiti med seboj. 12 Boga ni nikoli nihče videl. Če se med seboj ljubimo, ostaja Bog v nas in je njegova ljubezen v nas postala popolna.

13 Po tem spoznavamo, da ostajamo v njem in on v nas: dal nam je od svojega Duha. 14 In mi smo ga gledali in pričujemo, da je Oče poslal Sina za odrešenika sveta. 15 Kdor priznava, da je Jezus Božji Sin, ostaja Bog v njem in on v Bogu. 16 Mi smo spoznali ljubezen, ki jo ima Bog do nas, in verujemo vanjo.

naj izročajo darove,

12 Zakaj rešil bo ubogega, ki kliče na pomoč,

Jezus hodi po vodi
45 In takoj je primoral svoje učence, da so šli v čoln in se peljali pred njim na drugo stran proti Betsajdi, medtem pa je sam odpuščal množico. 46 Ko se je od njih poslovil, je šel na goro molit. 47 Proti večeru je bil čoln sredi jezera, on sam pa na kopnem. 48 Videl je, kako se mučijo z veslanjem, kajti veter jim je bil nasproten. Okrog četrte nočne straže je šel k njim tako, da je hodil po jezeru. Hotel je iti mimo njih, 49 toda videli so, da hodi po jezeru. Mislili so, da je prikazen in so zavpili. 50 Vsi so ga namreč zagledali in se prestrašili. On pa je takoj začel govoriti z njimi. Dejal jim je: »Bodite pogumni! Jaz sem. Ne bojte se!« 51 Nato je stopil k njim v čoln in veter je ponehal; bili so vsi iz sebe. 52 Niso še doumeli dogodka s hlebi, temveč je bilo njihovo srce zakrknjeno.
