Izaija 60,1-6Izaija 60,1-6
English: World English Bible - WEB

60 1 Arise, shine; for your light is come, and the glory of Yahweh is risen on you. 2 For, behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples; but Yahweh will arise on you, and his glory shall be seen on you. 3 Nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. 4 Lift up your eyes round about, and see: they all gather themselves together, they come to you; your sons shall come from far, and your daughters shall be carried in the arms. 5 Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be turned to you, the wealth of the nations shall come to you. 6 The multitude of camels shall cover you, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come; they shall bring gold and frankincense, and shall proclaim the praises of Yahweh.

Prestolnica Jeruzalem privlači ves svet

60

1 Vstani, zasij, kajti prišla je tvoja luč
in GOSPODOVO veličastvo je vzšlo nad teboj.
2 Kajti glej, tema pokriva zemljo
in megla ljudstva,
nad teboj pa vzhaja GOSPOD
in njegovo veličastvo sije nad teboj.
3 Narodi bodo prišli k tvoji luči,
kralji k siju tvoje zarje.

4 Povzdigni oči naokrog in poglej,
vsi se zbirajo, prihajajo k tebi.
Tvoji sinovi prihajajo od daleč,
tvoje hčere peljejo pod roko.
5 Tedaj boš videla in žarela,
srce ti bo drhtelo in se širilo,
kajti k tebi se bo obrnilo bogastvo morja,
imetje narodov bo prišlo k tebi.
6 Množica velblodov te bo zagrnila,
dromedarji iz Midjána in Efe,
prišli bodo vsi iz Sabe.
Zlata in kadila bodo prinesli,
GOSPODOVO hvalo bodo oznanjali.

72 By Solomon. 1 God, give the king your justice; Your righteousness to the royal son. 2 He will judge your people with righteousness, And your poor with justice. 7 In his days, the righteous shall flourish, And abundance of peace, until the moon is no more. 8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, From the River to the ends of the earth. 10 The kings of Tarshish and of the islands will bring tribute. The kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts. 11 Yes, all kings shall fall down before him. All nations shall serve him. 12 For he will deliver the needy when he cries; The poor, who has no helper. 13 He will have pity on the poor and needy. He will save the souls of the needy.

PSALM 72 (71)
Kralj miru in njegovo kraljestvo

72

1 Salomonov psalm.
O Bog, daj svoje sodbe kralju,

13 Sočutje bo imel do slabotnega in ubogega,
odrešil bo duše ubogih.

2 if it is so that you have heard of the administration of that grace of God which was given me toward you; 3 how that by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I wrote before in few words, 5 which in other generations was not made known to the children of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; 6 that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of his promise in Christ Jesus through the Gospel,

Evangelij po Mateju

Mt 2,1-12Mt 2,1-12
English: World English Bible - WEB

2 1 Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men The word for “wise men” can also mean teachers, priests, physicians, astrologers, seers, interpreters of dreams, or sorcerers. from the east came to Jerusalem, saying, 2 “Where is he who is born King of the Jews? For we saw his star in the east, and have come to worship him.” 3 When Herod the king heard it, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. 4 Gathering together all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he asked them where the Christ would be born. 5 They said to him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written through the prophet, 6 ‘You Bethlehem, land of Judah, Are in no way least among the princes of Judah: For out of you shall come forth a governor, Who shall shepherd my people, Israel.’” 7 Then Herod secretly called the wise men, and learned from them exactly what time the star appeared. 8 He sent them to Bethlehem, and said, “Go and search diligently for the young child. When you have found him, bring me word, so that I also may come and worship him.” 9 They, having heard the king, went their way; and behold, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, until it came and stood over where the young child was. 10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great joy. 11 They came into the house and saw the young child with Mary, his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh. 12 Being warned in a dream that they shouldn’t return to Herod, they went back to their own country another way.

Obisk modrih

2

6 In ti, Betlehem, dežela Judova,
nikakor nisi najmanjši med Judovimi voditelji;
11 Stopili so v hišo in zagledali dete z Marijo, njegovo materjo. Padli so predenj

in ga počastili. Odprli so svoje zaklade in mu darovali zlata, kadila in mire.

1. Janezovo pismo

1 Jn 3,11-211 Jn 3,11-21
English: World English Bible - WEB

11 For this is the message which you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another; 12 unlike Cain, who was of the evil one, and killed his brother. Why did he kill him? Because his works were evil, and his brother’s righteous. 13 Don’t be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. 14 We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brothers. He who doesn’t love his brother remains in death. 15 Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life remaining in him. 16 By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17 But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and closes his heart of compassion against him, how does the love of God remain in him? 18 My little children, let’s not love in word only, neither with the tongue only, but in deed and truth. 19 And by this we know that we are of the truth, and persuade our hearts before him, 20 because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. 21 Beloved, if our hearts don’t condemn us, we have boldness toward God;

Ljubite drug drugega

Jn 1,43-51Jn 1,43-51
English: World English Bible - WEB

43 On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galilee, and he found Philip. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” 44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter. 45 Philip found Nathanael, and said to him, “We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, wrote: Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.” 46 Nathanael said to him, “Can any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.” 47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and said about him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!” 48 Nathanael said to him, “How do you know me?” Jesus answered him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.” 49 Nathanael answered him, “Rabbi, you are the Son of God! You are King of Israel!” 50 Jesus answered him, “Because I told you, ‘I saw you underneath the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these!” 51 He said to him, “Most assuredly, I tell you, hereafter you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”

Jezus pokliče Filipa in Natánaela
