Naš mučenec, gimnazijec Lojze Grozde,

zajet in mučen na prvi petek, 1.januarja 1943 in umorjen na prvo soboto, 2.januarja 1943, je bil zelo evharistično usmerjen. V programu duhovnega življenja, ki si ga je sestavil na duhovnih vajah od 24.do 28.7.1942, je zapisal geslo:

” SVETA EVHARISTIJA, SONCE MOJEGA ŽIVLJENJA.”

V koncilski in pokoncilskih odlokih imamo več desetletij pozneje isto misel zapisano z besedami, da je Evharistija vir, središče in vrhunec našega življenja.

Sveto obhajilo je Lojze Grozde v zadnjih letih gimnazijskega študija prejemal vsak dan in tako vplival tudi na sošolce, da so hodili pogosto k obhajilu. Mašna daritev s svetim obhajilom je bila v središču njegovega življenja. Pri sveti daritvi je bil vedno tako zbran, da je to pri sošolcih zbujalo pozornost. Klečal je in molil iz latinskega misala.

22 When the days of their purification according to the law of Moses were fulfilled, they brought him up to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord ²³ , ²⁴ and to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, “A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.” ²⁵ Behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon.
