Spomladi 1916 so otroci med pašo, ko so že pomalicali in odmolili, nad gozdom s smeri zahoda opazili neko luč, bolj belo kot sneg. Bolj ko se je približevala, bolj so mogli razločiti postavo”prozornega” mladeniča. Ko je prišel do pastirjev,  jih je nagovoril:

“Ne bojte se. Sem angel miru. Molite z menoj!”

Angel je pokleknil, sklonil čelo do tal, otroci so ga posnemali. Nato so ga slišali izgovarjati:

“Moj Bog, verujem vate, molim te, upam vate in te ljubim.

Prosim te odpuščanja za tiste, ki ne verujejo, ne molijo, ne upajo in te ne ljubijo.”

To je ponovil trikrat. Potem je še dodal:

“Tako molite! Srci Jezusa in Marije poslušata glas vaših prošenj.”

Nato je izginil.

Lucija se spominja:

“Božjo navzočnost smo tako globoko čutili, da si niti med seboj nismo upali govoriti,  še drugi dan smo čutili, da smo obdani s tem ozračjem, ki je le prav počasi izginjalo…”

6 Bil je človek, ki ga je poslal Bog; ime mu je bilo Janez. 7 Prišel je zavoljo pričevanja, da bi pričeval o luči, da bi po njem vsi sprejeli vero. 8 Ni bil on luč, ampak pričeval naj bi o luči. 9 Resnična luč, ki razsvetljuje vsakega človeka, je prihajala na svet. 10 Beseda je bila na svetu in svet je po njej nastal, a svet je ni spoznal. 11 V svojo lastnino je prišla, toda njeni je niso sprejeli. 12 Tistim pa, ki so jo sprejeli, je dala moč, da postanejo Božji otroci, vsem, ki verujejo v njeno ime 13 in se niso rodili iz krvi ne iz volje mesa ne iz volje moža, ampak iz Boga.
