29 A Psalm by David. 1 Ascribe to Yahweh, you sons of the mighty, Ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength. 2 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Worship Yahweh in holy array. 3 Yahweh’s voice is on the waters. The God of glory thunders, even Yahweh on many waters. 4 Yahweh’s voice is powerful. Yahweh’s voice is full of majesty. 5 The voice of Yahweh breaks the cedars. Yes, Yahweh breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. 6 He makes them also to skip like a calf; Lebanon and Sirion like a young, wild ox. 7 Yahweh’s voice strikes with flashes of lightning. 8 Yahweh’s voice shakes the wilderness. Yahweh shakes the wilderness of Kadesh. 9 Yahweh’s voice makes the deer calve, And strips the forests bare. In his temple everything says, “Glory!” 10 Yahweh sat enthroned at the Flood. Yes, Yahweh sits as King forever. 11 Yahweh will give strength to his people. Yahweh will bless his people with peace.

31 What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
32 He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?
33 Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.”
37 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
39 nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Hvalnica Božji ljubezni
31 Kaj bomo torej rekli k vsemu temu? Če je Bog za nas, kdo je zoper nas? 32 On ni prizanesel lastnemu Sinu, temveč ga je dal za nas vse. Kako nam torej ne bo z njim tudi vsega podaril? 33 Kdo bo obtoževal Božje izvoljence? Bog opravičuje! 34 Kdo bo obsojal? Kristus Jezus, ki je umrl, še več, ki je bil obujen od mrtvih in sedi na Božji desnici ter posreduje za nas? 35 Kdo nas bo ločil od Kristusove ljubezni? Mar stiska ali nadloga, preganjanje ali lakota, nagota ali nevarnost ali meč? 36 Prav kakor je pisano:
Zaradi tebe nas ves dan pobijajo,
imajo nas za klavne ovce.
37 Toda v vseh teh preizkušnjah zmagujemo po njem, ki nas je vzljubil. 38 Kajti prepričan sem: ne smrt ne življenje, ne angeli ne poglavarstva, ne sedanjost ne prihodnost, ne moči, 39 ne visokost, ne globokost ne kakršna koli druga stvar nas ne bo mogla ločiti od Božje ljubezni v Jezusu Kristusu, našem Gospodu.

31 On that same day, some Pharisees came, saying to him, “Get out of here, and go away, for Herod wants to kill you.”
32 He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I complete my mission.
33 Nevertheless I must go on my way today and tomorrow and the next day, for it can’t be that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem.’
34 “Jerusalem, Jerusalem, that kills the prophets, and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, like a hen gathers her own brood under her wings, and you refused!
35 Behold, your house is left to you desolate. I tell you, you will not see me, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!’”

Jezus toži nad Jeruzalemom
31 Tisto uro je pristopilo nekaj farizejev in so mu rekli: »Odidi in pojdi od tod, kajti Herod te hoče umoriti.« 32 Rekel jim je: »Pojdite in recite temu lisjaku: Glej, izganjam demone in ozdravljam še danes in jutri, in tretji dan bom dosegel cilj.
33 Vendar moram danes, jutri in pojutrišnjem nadaljevati pot, ker ni možno, da bi prerok umrl zunaj Jeruzalema. 34 Jeruzalem, Jeruzalem, ki moriš preroke in kamnaš tiste, ki so poslani k tebi! Kolikokrat sem hotel zbrati tvoje otroke kakor koklja svoja piščeta pod peruti, pa niste hoteli! 35 Glejte, vaša hiša je zapuščena. In povem vam: Ne boste me videli, dokler ne porečete: ›Blagoslovljen, ki prihaja v Gospodovem imenu!‹«

Duhovnik je srečal na polju kmeta, ki je kljub sončni pripeki nosil klobuk v roki. Vprašal ga je, zakaj ne da klobuka na glavo. Kmet mu je odgovoril: “Ko grem mimo zorečega polja, nimam nikoli klobuka na glavi. Človek mora imeti spoštovanje do skrivnostne Božje bližine
in Božjega delovanja, ki ga je mogoče tu zaslediti.”
