23 1 Then Job answered, 2 “Even today is my complaint rebellious. His hand is heavy in spite of my groaning. 3 Oh that I knew where I might find him! That I might come even to his seat! 4 I would set my cause in order before him, And fill my mouth with arguments. 5 I would know the words which he would answer me, And understand what he would tell me. 6 Would he contend with me in the greatness of his power? No, but he would listen to me. 7 There the upright might reason with him, So I should be delivered forever from my judge. 8 “If I go east, he is not there; If west, I can’t find him; 9 He works to the north, but I can’t see him; He turns south, but I can’t catch a glimpse of him. 10 But he knows the way that I take. When he has tried me, I shall come forth like gold. 11 My foot has held fast to his steps. His way have I kept, and not turned aside. 12 I haven’t gone back from the commandment of his lips. I have treasured up the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. 13 But he stands alone, and who can oppose him? What his soul desires, even that he does. 14 For he performs that which is appointed for me. Many such things are with him. 15 Therefore I am terrified at his presence. When I consider, I am afraid of him. 16 For God has made my heart faint. The Almighty has terrified me. 17 Because I was not cut off before the darkness, Neither did he cover the thick darkness from my face.

Še napornejši postopek vodi do vina. Nobene mašne daritve ni brez pšeničnega kruha in vina iz grozdja.
Nobene mašne daritve zato ni brez kmeta in vinogradnika. Pa tudi brez mnogih drugih poklicev je ni. Pomislimo samo na stroje in ljudi ob njih, ki so potrebni za setev, žetev, mletje, peko hostij. Nekaj podobnega je pri vinu.
Vsi drugi poklici imajo vsaj neko zvezo s kruhom in vinom, ki sta zastopnika vsega človeškega prizadevanja, zastopnika vseh naporov in dosežkov znanosti in tehnike. Sveta maša zato ni nekaj tujega. Tesno je povezana z našim vsakdanjim delom.
Pri njej naše delo dobi svojo krono in svoj smisel.

18 For I know that in me, that is, in my flesh, dwells no good thing. For desire is present with me, but I don’t find it doing that which is good.
19 For the good which I desire, I don’t do; but the evil which I don’t desire, that I practice.
20 But if what I don’t desire, that I do, it is no more I that do it, but sin which dwells in me.
21 I find then the law, that, to me, while I desire to do good, evil is present.
22 For I delight in God’s law after the inward man,
23 but I see a different law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity under the law of sin which is in my members.
24 What a wretched man I am! Who will deliver me out of the body of this death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ, our Lord! So then with the mind, I myself serve God’s law, but with the flesh, the sin’s law.

Kdo me bo rešil telesa te smrti? 25 Zahvaljen bodi Bog po Jezusu Kristusu, našem Gospodu. Potemtakem z umom služim Božji postavi, z mesom pa postavi greha. |

66 Úči me dobrohotnosti, razsodnosti in vednosti,
ker zaupam v tvoje zapovedi.
|
|
68 Dober si in delaš dobro,
uči me svojih zakonov.
|
|
76 Naj bo vendar tvoja dobrota tista, ki me tolaži,
po tvojem izreku svojemu služabniku.
77 Naj pride tvoje usmiljenje nadme, da bom živel,
kajti tvoja postava je moja naslada.

|
93 Na veke ne bom pozabil tvojih ukazov,
kajti z njimi si me poživil.
94 Tvoj sem, reši me,
kajti iskal sem tvoje ukaze.

Evangelij po Luku

54 He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.
55 When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.
56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?
57 Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?
58 For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
59 I tell you, you will by no means get out of there, until you have paid the very last penny. Literally, lepton. A lepton is a very small brass Jewish coin worth half a Roman quadrans each, which is worth a quarter of the copper assarion. Lepta are worth less than 1% of an agricultural worker’s daily wages.”
