15 But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.” ¹⁶ Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven. ¹⁷ But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls. ¹⁸ If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul. ¹⁹ But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore will they be your judges. ²⁰ But if I by the finger of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come to you. ²¹ “When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe. ²² But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils. ²³ “He that is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters. ²⁴ The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’ ²⁵ When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order. ²⁶ Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”

15 nekateri izmed njih pa so rekli: »Z Bélcebubom, poglavarjem demonov, izganja demone.« 16 Tudi drugi so ga preizkušali in so zahtevali od njega znamenje z neba. 17 On pa je poznal njihove misli in jim je rekel: »Vsako kraljestvo, ki je razdeljeno proti sebi, se opustoši in hiša se na hišo zruši. 18 Če pa je tudi satan razdeljen proti sebi, kako bo obstalo njegovo kraljestvo, ko pravite, da z Bélcebubom izganjam demone? 19 Če namreč jaz z Bélcebubom izganjam demone, s kom jih izganjajo vaši sinovi? Zato bodo oni vaši sodniki. 20 Če pa z Božjim prstom izganjam demone, potem je prišlo k vam Božje kraljestvo. 21 Ko močni z orožjem varuje svoj dom, je varno njegovo premoženje. 22 Ko pa pride močnejši od njega in ga premaga, mu vzame vse orožje, na katero se je zanašal, in razdeli svoj plen. 23 Kdor ni z menoj, je proti meni, in kdor z menoj ne zbira, raztresa.«

2 I will be glad and rejoice in you. I will sing praise to your name, O Most High. ³ When my enemies turn back, They stumble and perish in your presence. ⁶ The enemy is overtaken by endless ruin. The very memory of the cities which you have overthrown has perished. ¹⁶ Yahweh has made himself known. He has executed judgment. The wicked is snared by the work of his own hands. Meditation. Selah. ⁸ He will judge the world in righteousness. He will administer judgment to the peoples in uprightness. ⁹ Yahweh will also be a high tower for the oppressed; A high tower in times of trouble.
