Oh bring me out of my distresses. 18 Consider my affliction and my travail. Forgive all my sins. 19 Consider my enemies, for they are many. They hate me with cruel hatred. 20 Oh keep my soul, and deliver me. Let me not be disappointed, for I take refuge in you. 21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for you. 22 Redeem Israel, God, Out all of his troubles.

Mati Terezija je na vprašanje, kaj ji pomeni Kristus, odgovorila z besedami in z vsem svojim življenjem:
“Ni me strah reči, da sem zaljubljena v Kristusa, zato ker mi pomeni vse.“
Na isto vprašanje je po popolnem spreobrnjenju pred Damaskom odgovoril sv.Pavel:
“Kar je bilo zame dobiček, to sem zaradi Kristusa začel imeti za izgubo. Še več, za izgubo imam vse zaradi vzvišenosti spoznanja Kristusa Jezusa, mojega Gospoda.
Zaradi Njega sem zavrgel vse in imam vse za smeti, da bi si prislužil Kristusa in se znašel v Njem.

Dokler vsaj v neki meri ne doživimo veličine Jezusa Kristusa, bo naša vera bolj neka tradicija kakor naša osebna odločitev.
Z Jezusom se srečujemo pri mašni daritvi in še posebej pri sv.obhajilu,
pri drugih zakramentih, pri branju in poslušanju Svetega pisma, pri obisku Najsvetejšega, pri molitvenem Bogoslužju, pri osebni molitvi, posebej pri meditaciji, v bližnjem, posebej v predstojniku in v ubogem ter trpečem človeku, v skupnosti, ki je zbrana v Jezusovem imenu, 
ob srečevanju z Božjim stvarstvom.

Čim bolj smo v prijateljstvu z Jezusom, tem bolj se po Njem upodabljamo. Tem bolj mu postajamo podobni. Čim bolj ga posnemamo, tem bolj se utrjuje prijateljstvo z Njim. 
Kristjan, ki si prizadeva za svetost, se hoče navzeti Jezusovega mišljenja, govorjenja in ravnanja. V njem vsaj nekoliko zaživijo Jezusove kreposti, njegova ljubezen do Očeta in do vseh ljudi, zlasti do najbolj zapuščenih. 
Jezusa posnema v odnosu do križa, poniževanj in zaničevanj. Popolno priličenje Jezusu in popolno združenje z Njim se bo uresničilo šele v večnosti.
Ko spolnjujemo zapovedi, nas združujejo z Jezusom. 
S tem pokažemo, da svoje prijateljstvo do Njega jemljemo resno.
Jezus je pot do popolnega človeka. Drugi vatikanski cerkveni zbor uči:
“Kdorkoli hodi za Kristusom, popolnim človekom, postane tudi sam bolj človek.
Naša vera je čudovita, če je evangelij, stavek za stavkom, uresničen v življenju kristjanov. Moč krščanstva je v Svetem Duhu, ki neprestano deluje v globinah človeških src in jih vodi h Kristusu.
Samo iskrena in nesebična ljubezen je prepričljiva in vedno privlačna. Po njej ima Kristus prednost pred vsemi drugimi ustanovitelji verstev. Nihče drug se iz ljubezni do človeštva ni dal pribiti na križ. 
To svojo neizmerno ljubezen nam izkazuje še danes in pričakuje od nas, da ga z Njegovo pomočjo posnemamo.

2 “Speak now to Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying,
3 ‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How do you see it now? Isn’t it in your eyes as nothing?
4 Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says Yahweh. ‘Be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ says Yahweh, ‘and work, for I am with you,’ says Yahweh of Armies.
5 This is the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, and my Spirit lived among you. Don’t be afraid.’
6 For this is what Yahweh of Armies says: ‘Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the dry land;
7 and I will shake all nations. The precious things of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says Yahweh of Armies.
8 The silver is mine, and the gold is mine,’ says Yahweh of Armies.
9 ‘The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says Yahweh of Armies; ‘and in this place will I give peace,’ says Yahweh of Armies.”

In kakšno jo vidite zdaj? Ali ni v vaših očeh kakor nič? 4 Zdaj pa pogum, Zerubabél, govori GOSPOD, pogum, Ješúa, Jocadákov sin, véliki duhovnik, pogum, vse ljudstvo v deželi, govori GOSPOD!
