25 By David. 1 To you, Yahweh, do I lift up my soul. 2 My God, I have trusted in you, Don’t let me be shamed. Don’t let my enemies triumph over me. 3 Yes, no one who waits for you shall be shamed. They shall be shamed who deal treacherously without cause. 4 Show me your ways, Yahweh. Teach me your paths. 5 Guide me in your truth, and teach me, For you are the God of my salvation, I wait for you all day long. 6 Yahweh, remember your tender mercies and your loving kindness, For they are from old times. 7 Don’t remember the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions. Remember me according to your loving kindness, For your goodness’ sake, Yahweh. 8 Good and upright is Yahweh, Therefore he will instruct sinners in the way. 9 He will guide the humble in justice. He will teach the humble his way. 10 All the paths of Yahweh are loving kindness and truth To such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. 11 For your name’s sake, Yahweh, Pardon my iniquity, for it is great. 12 What man is he who fears Yahweh? He shall instruct him in the way that he shall choose. 13 His soul shall dwell at ease. His seed shall inherit the land. 14 The friendship of Yahweh is with those who fear him. He will show them his covenant. 15 My eyes are ever on Yahweh, For he will pluck my feet out of the net. 16 Turn to me, and have mercy on me, For I am desolate and afflicted. 17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged. Oh bring me out of my distresses. 18 Consider my affliction and my travail. Forgive all my sins. 19 Consider my enemies, for they are many. They hate me with cruel hatred. 20 Oh keep my soul, and deliver me. Let me not be disappointed, for I take refuge in you. 21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, For I wait for you. 22 Redeem Israel, God, Out all of his troubles.

23 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, cumin is an aromatic seed from Cuminum cyminum, resembling caraway in flavor and appearance. It is used as a spice. and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
24 You blind guides, who strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel!
25 “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and unrighteousness. TR reads “self-indulgence” instead of “unrighteousness”
26 You blind Pharisee, first clean the inside of the cup and of the platter, that the outside of it may become clean also.

1 For you yourselves know, brothers, our visit to you wasn’t in vain,
2 but having suffered before and been shamefully treated, as you know, at Philippi, we grew bold in our God to tell you the Gospel of God in much conflict.
3 For our exhortation is not of error, nor of uncleanness, nor in deception.
4 But even as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Gospel, so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, who tests our hearts.
5 For neither were we at any time found using words of flattery, as you know, nor a cloak of covetousness ,
6 nor seeking glory from men , when we might have claimed authority as apostles of Christ.
7 But we were gentle among of you, as when a nurse cherishes her own children.
8 Even so, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you, not the Gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because you had become very dear to us.

Pavlovo delo v Tesaloníki
1 Sami namreč veste, bratje, da naš prihod med vas ni bil prazen. 2 Čeprav smo prej doživeli v Filípih, kakor veste, trpljenje in zasramovanje, smo se opogumili v našem Bogu in vam v velikem boju oznanili Božji evangelij. 3 Kajti naše spodbujanje ne izvira iz zablode, ne iz nečistih nagibov, ne iz zvijačnosti, 4 ampak tako oznanjamo, kakor nas je imel Bog za vredne, da nam zaupa evangelij: pri tem pa ne skušamo ugajati ljudem, ampak Bogu, ki preizkuša naša srca. 5 Nikoli namreč nismo govorili tako, da bi se prilizovali, kakor veste. Prav tako nam oznanjevanje ni bilo pretveza za pohlep: Bog je priča o tem. 6 Tudi nismo iskali slave pri ljudeh, ne pri vas ne pri drugih, 7 čeprav bi lahko uveljavili svoj ugled kot Kristusovi apostoli, ampak smo nastopali med vami z vso ljubeznivostjo. S prav takšno toplino, s kakršno mati neguje svoje otroke, 8 smo vam hoteli dati ne samo Božji evangelij, ampak tudi svoje življenje, in sicer zato, ker ste se nam priljubili.

And you know me.
2 You know my sitting down and my rising up.
You perceive my thoughts from afar.
3 You search out my path and my lying down,

But, behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether.
5 You hem me in behind and before.
You laid your hand on me.
6 This knowledge is beyond me.
It’s lofty.

GOSPOD, preizkusil si me in me poznaš.
2 Poznaš moje sedenje in moje vstajanje,
od daleč razumeš moje misli.
3 Opazuješ moje potovanje in moje počivanje,
z vsemi mojimi potmi si seznanjen.
4 Zares, besede še ni na mojem jeziku,
glej, ti, GOSPOD, si jo že spoznal v celoti.
5 Zadaj in spredaj me obdajaš
in name polagaš svojo roko.
6 Prečudovito je zame spoznanje,
previsoko je, ne morem ga doseči.
