1 He also spoke a parable to them that they must always pray, and not give up,
2 saying, “There was a judge in a certain city who didn’t fear God, and didn’t respect man.
3 A widow was in that city, and she often came to him, saying, ‘Defend me from my adversary!’
4 He wouldn’t for a while, but afterward he said to himself, ‘Though I neither fear God, nor respect man,
5 yet because this widow bothers me, I will defend her, or else she will wear me out by her continual coming.’”
6 The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says.
7 Won’t God avenge his chosen ones, who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them?
8 I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

23 Jesus said to his disciples, “Most assuredly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty.
24 Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”
25 When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”
26 Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
27 Then Peter answered, “Behold, we have left everything, and followed you. What then will we have?”
28 Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.
30 But many will be last who are first; and first who are last.

11 The angel of Yahweh came, and sat under the oak which was in Ophrah, that pertained to Joash the Abiezrite: and his son Gideon was beating out wheat in the winepress, to hide it from the Midianites.
12 The angel of Yahweh appeared to him, and said to him, Yahweh is with you, you mighty man of valor.
13 Gideon said to him, Oh, my lord, if Yahweh is with us, why then has all this happened to us? and where are all his wondrous works which our fathers told us of, saying, Did not Yahweh bring us up from Egypt? but now Yahweh has cast us off, and delivered us into the hand of Midian.
14 Yahweh looked at him, and said, Go in this your might, and save Israel from the hand of Midian: have not I sent you?
15 He said to him, Oh, Lord, with which shall I save Israel? behold, my family is the poorest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my father’s house.
16 Yahweh said to him, Surely I will be with you, and you shall strike the Midianites as one man.
17 He said to him, If now I have found favor in your sight, then show me a sign that it is you who talk with me.
18 Please don’t go away, until I come to you, and bring out my present, and lay it before you. He said, I will wait until you come again.
19 Gideon went in, and made ready a kid, and unleavened cakes of an ephah of meal: the flesh he put in a basket, and he put the broth in a pot, and brought it out to him under the oak, and presented it.
20 The angel of God said to him, Take the flesh and the unleavened cakes, and lay them on this rock, and pour out the broth. He did so.
21 Then the angel of Yahweh put forth the end of the staff that was in his hand, and touched the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and there went up fire out of the rock, and consumed the flesh and the unleavened cakes; and the angel of Yahweh departed out of his sight.
22 Gideon saw that he was the angel of Yahweh; and Gideon said, Alas, Lord Yahweh! because I have seen the angel of Yahweh face to face.
23 Yahweh said to him, Peace be to you; don’t be afraid: you shall not die.
24 Then Gideon built an altar there to Yahweh, and called it Yahweh-shalom: to this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abiezrites.

Bog pokliče Gideóna
11 Tedaj je prišel GOSPODOV angel in se usedel pod terebinto v Ofri, last Abiézerjevca Joáša. Njegov sin Gideón je v stiskalnici s palico otepal pšenico, da bi jo spravil na varno pred Midjánci. 12 Tedaj se mu je prikazal GOSPODOV angel in mu rekel: »GOSPOD s teboj, močni junak!« 13 Gideón mu je rekel: »Toda, moj gospod, če je GOSPOD z nami, zakaj nas je potem vse to zadelo? Kje so vsa njegova čudežna dela, o katerih so nam pripovedovali naši očetje, ko so rekli: ›Ali nas ni GOSPOD izpeljal iz Egipta?‹ Zdaj pa nas je GOSPOD zavrgel in izročil v roke Midjáncem.« 14 GOSPOD se je obrnil k njemu in rekel: »Pojdi v tej svoji moči in rešil boš Izraela iz rok Midjáncev. Ali te ne pošiljam jaz sam?« 15 Rekel mu je: »Toda, moj gospod, s čim bom rešil Izraela? Glej, moja rodbina je najrevnejša v Manáseju in jaz sem poslednji v hiši svojega očeta.« 16 GOSPOD pa mu je rekel: »Jaz bom s teboj. Pobil boš Midjánce kakor enega moža.« 17 Rekel mu je: »Če sem našel milost v tvojih očeh, mi daj znamenje, da si ti, ki govoriš z menoj! 18 Prosim te, ne hodi od tod, dokler se ne vrnem k tebi, prinesem svoj dar in ga postavim predte!« Rekel mu je: »Ostanem, dokler se ne vrneš.«
19 Tedaj je Gideón odšel, pripravil kozjega mladiča in nekvašenega kruha iz škafa moke. V košaro je položil meso in vlil juho v lonec. Vse to je odnesel k njemu pod terebinto in daroval. 20 Božji angel mu je tedaj rekel: »Vzemi meso in nekvašeni kruh in ju položi na to skalo, juho pa zlij proč!« Storil je tako. 21 GOSPODOV angel je tedaj vzel konec palice v svojo roko in se dotaknil mesa in nekvašenega kruha. Iz skale je tedaj švignil ogenj in použil meso in nekvašeni kruh; GOSPODOV angel pa je odšel izpred njegovih oči. 22 Tedaj je Gideón videl, da je bil GOSPODOV angel. In Gideón je rekel: »Gorje, Gospod BOG, kajti videl sem GOSPODOVEGA angela iz obličja v obličje.« 23 GOSPOD pa mu je rekel: »Mir s teboj, nikar se ne boj! Ne boš umrl.« 24 Tedaj je Gideón tam postavil oltar GOSPODU in ga imenoval »GOSPOD je mir.« Do tega dne je še vedno v Ofri Abiézerjevcev.

Psalmi 85,9-14Psalmi 85,9-14

9 Surely his salvation is near those who fear him,
That glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth meet together.
Righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 Truth springs out of the earth.
Righteousness has looked down from heaven.
12 Yes, Yahweh will give that which is good.
Our land will yield its increase.
13 Righteousness goes before him,
And prepares the way for his steps.

9 Poslušam, kaj govori GOSPOD Bog:
Zares, govori o miru
svojemu ljudstvu in svojim zvestim
in naj se ne obračajo k norosti.
10 Zares, blizu je njegova rešitev tistim, ki se ga bojijo,
da bo slava prebivala v naši deželi.
11 Dobrota in zvestoba se bosta srečali,
pravičnost in mir se bosta poljubila.
12 Iz zemlje bo pognala zvestoba,
z nebes bo gledala pravičnost.
