24 “A disciple is not above his teacher, nor a servant above his lord.
25 It is enough for the disciple that he be like his teacher, and the servant like his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more those of his household!
26 Therefore don’t be afraid of them, for there is nothing covered that will not be revealed; and hidden that will not be known.
27 What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in the ear, proclaim on the housetops.
28 Don’t be afraid of those who kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul. Rather, fear him who is able to destroy both soul and body in Gehenna.
29 “Aren’t two sparrows sold for an assarion An assarion is a small coin worth one tenth of a drachma or a sixteenth of a denarius .? Not one of them falls on the ground apart from your Father’s will,
30 but the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
31 Therefore don’t be afraid. You are of more value than many sparrows.
32 Everyone therefore who confesses me before men, him I will also confess before my Father who is in heaven.
33 But whoever denies me before men, him I will also deny before my Father who is in heaven.

24 Učenec ni nad učiteljem in služabnik ne nad svojim gospodarjem. 25 Učencu zadošča, da postane kakor njegov učitelj, in služabniku, da postane kakor njegov gospodar. Če so hišnega gospodarja imenovali Bélcebub, koliko bolj bodo njegove domače.«

26 »Ne bojte se jih torej! Nič ni zakritega, kar se ne bo razodelo, in skritega, kar se ne bo spoznalo. 27 Kar vam pravim v temi, povejte na svetlobi; in kar slišite na uho, oznanite na strehah. 28 Ne bojte se tistih, ki umorijo telo, duše pa ne morejo umoriti. Bojte se rajši tistega, ki more dušo in telo pogubiti v peklenski dolini! 29 Ali ne prodajajo dveh vrabcev za en novčič? In vendar nobeden od njiju ne pade na zemljo brez vašega Očeta. 30 Vam pa so celo vsi lasje na glavi prešteti. 31 Ne bojte se torej! Vi ste vredni več kakor veliko vrabcev.«

32 »Vsakega torej, ki bo priznal mene pred ljudmi, bom tudi jaz priznal pred svojim Očetom, 
ki je v nebesih. 33 Kdor pa bo mene zatajil pred ljudmi, ga bom tudi jaz zatajil pred svojim Očetom, ki je v nebesih.«

1 My son, if you will receive my words,
And store up my commandments within you;
2 So as to turn your ear to wisdom,
And apply your heart to understanding;
3 Yes, if you call out for discernment,
And lift up your voice for understanding;
4 If you seek her as silver,
And search for her as for hidden treasures:
5 Then you will understand the fear of Yahweh,
And find the knowledge of God.
6 For Yahweh gives wisdom.
Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding.
7 He lays up sound wisdom for the upright.
He is a shield to those who walk in integrity;
8 That he may guard the paths of justice,
And preserve the way of his saints.
9 Then you will understand righteousness and justice,
Equity and every good path.

Pomen vzgoje
1 Sin moj, če sprejemaš moje izreke
in hraniš pri sebi moje zapovedi,
2 tako da tvoje uho posluša modrost,
da nagibaš svoje srce k razumnosti,
3 da, če kličeš razsodnost,
daješ svoj glas razumnosti,
4 če jo iščeš kakor srebro,
jo odkopavaš kakor zaklade,
5 tedaj boš razumel strah GOSPODOV
in boš dosegel spoznanje Boga.
6 Kajti GOSPOD daje modrost,
iz njegovih ust prihajata spoznanje in razumnost.
7 Pravičnim pripravlja uspeh,
ščit je tem, ki hodijo pošteno.
8 Takó pazi na steze pravice,
varuje pot svojih zvestih.
9 Tedaj boš razumel pravičnost in pravico,
poštenost in sleherno dobro pot.

Make his doings known among the peoples.
2 Sing to him, sing praises to him!
Tell of all his marvelous works.
3 Glory in his holy name.
Let the heart of those who seek Yahweh rejoice.
4 Seek Yahweh and his strength.
Seek his face forever more.
6 You seed of Abraham, his servant,
You children of Jacob, his chosen ones.
7 He is Yahweh, our God.
His judgments are in all the earth.
8 He has remembered his covenant forever,

1 Zahvaljujte se GOSPODU, kličite njegovo ime,

3 Ponašajte se z njegovim svetim imenom,
