26 He said, “The Kingdom of God is as if a man should cast seed on the earth,
27 and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up and grow, he doesn’t know how.
28 For the earth bears fruit: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear.
29 But when the fruit is ripe, immediately he puts forth the sickle, because the harvest has come.”
30 He said, “How will we liken the Kingdom of God? Or with what parable will we illustrate it?
31 It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth,
32 yet when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow.”
33 With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it.
34 Without a parable he didn’t speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained all things.

26 In govoril je: »Z Božjim kraljestvom je kakor s človekom, ki vrže seme v zemljo. 27 Spi in vstaja, ponoči in podnevi, seme pa klije in raste, da sam ne ve kako.
28 Zemlja sama od sebe poraja najprej bilko, nato klas in končno žito v klasu. 29 Ko pa sad dozori, hitro zamahne s srpom, kajti prišla je žetev.«

30 In govoril je: »Kako naj ponazorimo Božje kraljestvo in s kakšno priliko naj ga predstavimo? 31 Takšno je kot gorčično zrno, ki je takrat, ko se vseje v zemljo, manjše od vseh semen na zemlji. 32 Ko pa je vsejano, raste in postane večje od vseh zelišč in naredi velike veje, tako da morejo ptice neba gnezditi v njegovi senci.«
Zakaj v prilikah
33 V mnogih takih prilikah jim je govoril besedo, kakor so jo pač mogli poslušati. 34 Brez prilike pa jim ni govoril; a svojim učencem je posebej vse razlagal.

23 in the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it; and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all birds of every wing; in the shade of the branches of it shall they dwell.
24 All the trees of the field shall know that I, Yahweh, have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish; I, Yahweh, have spoken and have done it.

22 Tako govori Gospod BOG:
Jaz sam bom vzel vršič
visoke cedre
in ga potaknil,
od njegovih vrhnjih mladik
bom odtrgal nežno vejico
in jo zasadil
na visoko in vzvišeno goro.
23 Na Izraelov gorski vrh
jo bom zasadil,
pognala bo veje in obrodila sad,
postala bo veličastna cedra.
Pod njo bodo prebivale vsakovrstne ptice,
vse krilate živali
bodo prebivale v senci njenih vej.
24 Tedaj bodo spoznala vsa poljska drevesa,
da sem jaz, GOSPOD,
ponižal visoko drevo
in povišal nizko,
da sem posušil zeleno drevo
in dal, da je suho pognalo.

14 Kateri so vsajeni v GOSPODOVI hiši,
v dvorih našega Boga poganjajo.
15 Še v starosti rodijo sadove,
ostanejo polni soka in zelenja,
16 da oznanjajo, da je GOSPOD pravičen,
moja skala, v njem ni izprijenosti.

8 We are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord.
9 Therefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to him.
10 For we must all be revealed before the judgment seat of Christ; that each one may receive the things in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

6 Zato smo vedno pogumni, čeprav vemo, da smo zdoma in daleč od Gospoda, dokler smo doma v tem telesu, 7 saj v veri hodimo in ne v gledanju. 8 Vendar smo pogumni in zadovoljni s tem, da se bomo izselili iz telesa in se priselili h Gospodu. 9 Zato si tudi prizadevamo, da bi mu bili všeč, bodisi da smo priseljeni v telesu bodisi da smo izseljeni. 10 Vsi se bomo namreč morali pojaviti pred Kristusovim sodnim stolom, da bo vsak prejel plačilo za to, kar je v zemeljskem življenju delal, dobro ali slabo.

36 Neither shall you swear by your head, for you can’t make one hair white or black.
37 But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes’ and your ‘No’ be ‘no.’ Whatever is more than these is of the evil one.

And don’t forget all his benefits;
3 Who forgives all your sins;
Who heals all your diseases;
4 Who redeems your life from destruction;
Who crowns you with loving kindness and tender mercies;
8 Yahweh is merciful and gracious,
Slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness.
9 He will not always accuse;
Neither will he stay angry forever.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth,
So great is his loving kindness toward those who fear him.
12 As far as the east is from the west,
So far has he removed our transgressions from us.

1 Davidov psalm.
Slávi, moja duša, GOSPODA,
vsa moja notranjost njegovo sveto ime.

ne pozabi nobenega dejanja njega,
3 ki odpušča vso tvojo krivdo,
ki ozdravlja vse tvoje bolezni,

počasen v jezi in bogat v dobroti.
