2 1 Now when the day of Pentecost had come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 Suddenly there came from the sky a sound like the rushing of a mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 Tongues like fire appeared and were distributed to them, and one sat on each of them. 4 They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other languages, as the Spirit gave them the ability to speak. 5 Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation under the sky. 6 When this sound was heard, the multitude came together, and were bewildered, because everyone heard them speaking in his own language. 7 They were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Behold, aren’t all these who speak Galileans? 8 How do we hear, everyone in our own native language? 9 Parthians, Medes, Elamites, and people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, 10 Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, the parts of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, 11 Cretans and Arabians: we hear them speaking in our languages the mighty works of God!”

1 Ko je prišel binkoštni dan, so bili vsi zbrani na istem kraju. 2 Nenadoma je nastal z neba šum, kot bi se bližal silovit vihar, in napolnil vso hišo, kjer so se zadrževali. 3 Prikazali so se jim jeziki, podobni plamenom, ki so se razdelili, in nad vsakim je obstal po eden. 4 Vsi so bili napolnjeni s Svetim Duhom in začeli so govoriti v tujih jezikih, kakor jim je Duh dajal izgovarjati.
5 V Jeruzalemu so tedaj prebivali Judje, pobožni možje iz vseh narodov pod nebom. 6 Ko se je razširil glas o tem, se je zbrala množica ljudi, ki so bili vsi iz sebe, ker jih je vsakdo slišal govoriti v svojem jeziku. 7 Strmeli so, se čudili in govorili: »Glejte, ali niso vsi ti, ki govorijo, Galilejci? 8 Kako, da jih slišimo vsak v svojem materinem jeziku? 9 Parti, Medijci in Elámci in tisti, ki prebivamo v Mezopotamiji, Judeji in Kapadokiji, v Pontu in Aziji, 10 v Frigiji in Pamfiliji, v Egiptu in v libijskih krajih blizu Cirene, in mi iz Rima, ki se zdaj mudimo tukaj, 11 Judje in spreobrnjenci, Krečáni in Arabci – vsi jih slišimo, kako v naših jezikih oznanjajo velika Božja dela!«

You renew the face of the ground. 34 Let your meditation be sweet to him. I will rejoice in Yahweh.

GOSPOD, moj Bog, zelo si velik,
veličastvo in sijaj si oblekel.

24 Kako veliko je tvojih del, o GOSPOD!
Vsa si naredil z modrostjo,
zemlja je polna tvojih ustvarjenih bitij.

29 Skriješ svoje obličje, prestrašijo se,
Vzameš jim dih, preminejo,
in se v svoj prah povrnejo;
30 pošlješ svoj dih, ustvarjena so,
in prenoviš obličje zemlje.

34 Naj mu bo prijetna moja pesem,
jaz se bom veselil v GOSPODU.

16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one other, that you may not do the things that you desire. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are obvious, which are: adultery, sexual immorality, uncleanness, lustfulness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, 21 envyings, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these; of which I forewarn you, even as I also forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and lusts. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let’s also walk by the Spirit.

Sad Duha in dela mesa
16 Pravim torej: žívite v Duhu in nikakor ne boste stregli poželenju mesa. 17 Kajti meso si želi, kar je zoper Duha, Duh pa, kar je zoper meso. Ta dva si namreč nasprotujeta, da ne bi delali tega, kar hočete. 18 Toda če se daste voditi Duhu, niste pod postavo. 19 Sicer pa so dela mesa očitna. To so: nečistovanje, nečistost, razuzdanost, 20 malikovanje, čaranje, sovraštva, prepirljivost, ljubosumnost, jeze, častihlepnosti, razprtije, strankarstva, 21 nevoščljivosti, pijančevanja, žretja in kar je še takega. Glede tega vas vnaprej opozarjam, kakor sem vas že opozoril: tisti, ki počenjajo takšne stvari, ne bodo podedovali Božjega kraljestva.
22 Sad Duha pa je: ljubezen, veselje, mir, potrpežljivost, blágost, dobrotljivost, zvestoba, 23 krotkost, samoobvladanje. Zoper te stvari ni postave. 24 Tisti, ki pripadajo Kristusu Jezusu, so križali svoje meso s strastmi in poželenji vred. 25 Če živimo po Duhu, tudi delajmo po Duhu.
