15 1 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the farmer. 2 Every branch in me that doesn’t bear fruit, he takes away. Every branch that bears fruit, he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. 3 You are already pruned clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch can’t bear fruit by itself, unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me. 5 I am the vine. You are the branches. He who remains in me, and I in him, the same bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If a man doesn’t remain in me, he is thrown out as a branch, and is withered; and they gather them, throw them into the fire, and they are burned. 7 If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. 8 “In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit; and so you will be my disciples.

1 »Jaz sem resnična vinska trta in moj Oče je vinogradnik. 2 Vsako mladiko na meni, ki ne rodi sadu, odstrani; in vsako, ki rodi sad, očiščuje, da rodi še več sadu. 3 Vi ste že čisti zaradi besede, ki sem vam jo povedal. 4 Ostanite v meniostanite-v-meni in jaz v vas. Kakor mladika ne more sama roditi sadu, če ne ostane na trti, tako tudi vi ne, če ne ostanete v meni. 5 Jaz sem trta, vi mladike. Kdor ostane v meni in jaz v njem, ta rodi obilo sadu, kajti brez mene ne morete storiti ničesar. 6 Če kdo ne ostane v meni, ga vržejo proč kakor mladiko in se posuši. Te mladike poberejo in vržejo v ogenj in zgorijo. 7 Če ostanete v meni in moje besede ostanejo v vas, prosíte, kar koli hočete, in se vam bo zgodilo. 8 V tem je poveličan moj Oče, da obrodite obilo sadu in postanete moji učenci.

15 1 Some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised after the custom of Moses, you can’t be saved.” 2 Therefore when Paul and Barnabas had no small discord and discussion with them, they appointed Paul and Barnabas, and some others of them, to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question. 3 They, being sent on their way by the assembly, passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles. They caused great joy to all the brothers. The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” 4 When they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly and the apostles and the elders, and they reported all things that God had done with them. 5 But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to charge them to keep the law of Moses.” 6 The apostles and the elders were gathered together to see about this matter.

1 Tedaj pa so prišli neki ljudje iz Judeje in učili brate: »Če se ne daste obrezati po Mojzesovem običaju, se ne morete odrešíti.« 2 Pavel in Barnaba sta se jim odločno postavila po robu in dosti razpravljala z njimi o tem; sklenili so, naj Pavel in Barnaba in še nekateri drugi odpotujejo k apostolom in starešinam v Jeruzalem, da bi razjasnili to sporno vprašanje. 3 Cerkev jih je slovesno pospremila. Potovali so čez Fenikijo in Samarijo in pripovedovali, kako se pogani spreobračajo, in to je vse brate navdalo z velikim veseljem. 4 Ko sta prišla v Jeruzalem, jih je sprejela Cerkev z apostoli in starešinami in poročali so, kaj vse je Bog storil po njih. 5 Tedaj pa so vstali nekateri iz ločine farizejev, ki so bili sprejeli vero, in rekli: »Treba jih je obrezati in jim naročiti, naj se držijo Mojzesove postave.«
6 Apostoli in starešine so se zbrali, da bi presodili to zadevo.

1 Davidova stopniška pesem.
Veselil sem se, ko so mi rekli:
»V GOSPODOVO hišo pojdemo.«
2 Naše noge so se ustavile
ob tvojih vratih, Jeruzalem.


3 Jeruzalem, pozidan kot mesto,
ki je v sebi hkrati sklenjeno,
4 tja se vzpenjajo rodovi,
GOSPODOVI rodovi;
pričevanje za Izraela je,
da slavi ime GOSPODOVO.
5 Zares, tam so postavljeni sodni prestoli,
prestoli za Davidovo hišo.
