19 When therefore it was evening, on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were locked where the disciples were assembled, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in the midst, and said to them, “Peace be to you.”
20 When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. The disciples therefore were glad when they saw the Lord.
21 Jesus therefore said to them again, “Peace be to you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.”
22 When he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit!
23 Whoever’s sins you forgive, they are forgiven them. Whoever’s sins you retain, they have been retained.”
24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, wasn’t with them when Jesus came.
25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Lord!”
But he said to them, “Unless I see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
26 After eight days again his disciples were inside, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came, the doors being locked, and stood in the midst, and said, “Peace be to you.”
27 Then he said to Thomas, “Reach here your finger, and see my hands. Reach here your hand, and put it into my side. Don’t be unbelieving, but believing.”
28 Thomas answered him, “My Lord and my God!”
29 Jesus said to him, “Because you have seen me, TR adds “ Thomas,” you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have believed.”
30 Therefore Jesus did many other signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book;
31 but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name.

Jezus se prikaže učencem
19 Pod noč tistega dne, prvega v tednu, ko so bila tam, kjer so se učenci zadrževali, vrata iz strahu pred Judi zaklenjena, je prišel Jezus, stopil mednje in jim rekel: »Mir vam bodi!« 20 In ko je to rekel, jim je pokazal roke in stran. Učenci so se razveselili, ko so videli Gospoda. 21 Tedaj jim je Jezus spet rekel: »Mir vam bodi! Kakor je Oče mene poslal, tudi jaz vas pošiljam.« 22 In ko je to izrekel, je dihnil vanje in jim dejal: »Prejmite Svetega Duha! 23 Katerim grehe odpustite, so jim odpuščeni; katerim jih zadržite, so jim zadržani.«
Jezus in Tomaž
24 Tomaža, enega izmed dvanajsterih, ki se je imenoval Dvojček, pa ni bilo med njimi, ko je prišel Jezus. 25 Drugi učenci so mu torej pripovedovali: »Gospoda smo videli.« On pa jim je rekel: »Če ne vidim na njegovih rokah rane od žebljev in ne vtaknem prsta v rane od žebljev in ne položim roke v njegovo stran, nikakor ne bom veroval.« 26 Čez osem dni so bili njegovi učenci spet notri in Tomaž z njimi. Jezus je prišel pri zaprtih vratih, stopil mednje in jim rekel: »Mir vam bodi!« 
27 Potem je rekel Tomažu: »Položi svoj prst sem in poglej moje roke! Daj svojo roko in jo položi v mojo stran in ne bodi neveren, ampak veren.« 28 Tomaž mu je odgovoril in rekel: »Moj Gospod in moj Bog!« 29 Jezus mu je rekel: »Ker si me videl, veruješ? Blagor tistim, ki niso videli, pa so začeli verovati!«
27 Potem je rekel Tomažu: »Položi svoj prst sem in poglej moje roke! Daj svojo roko in jo položi v mojo stran in ne bodi neveren, ampak veren.« 28 Tomaž mu je odgovoril in rekel: »Moj Gospod in moj Bog!« 29 Jezus mu je rekel: »Ker si me videl, veruješ? Blagor tistim, ki niso videli, pa so začeli verovati!« Namen knjige
30 Jezus je vpričo svojih učencev storil še veliko drugih znamenj, ki niso zapisana v tej knjigi; 31 ta pa so zapisana, da bi vi verovali, da je Jezus Mesija, Božji Sin, in da bi s tem, da verujete, imeli življenje v njegovem imenu.

32 The multitude of those who believed were of one heart and soul. Not one of them claimed that anything of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common.
33 With great power, the apostles gave their testimony of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. Great grace was on them all.
34 For neither was there among them any who lacked, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them, and brought the proceeds of the things that were sold,
35 and laid them at the apostles’ feet, and distribution was made to each, according as anyone had need.

32 Množica teh, ki so sprejeli vero, je imela kakor eno srce in eno dušo. Nihče ni trdil, da je to, kar ima, njegova last, temveč jim je bilo vse skupno. 33 Apostoli so z veliko močjo pričevali o vstajenju Gospoda Jezusa in velika milost je bila nad vsemi. 34 Nihče med njimi ni trpel pomanjkanja. Lastniki, ki so prodajali zemljišča ali hiše, so prinašali izkupiček 35 ter ga polagali k nogam apostolov; in sleherni je od tega dobil, kar je potreboval.

1 After these things, there was a feast of the Jews, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now in Jerusalem by the sheep gate, there is a pool, which is called in Hebrew, “Bethesda,” having five porches.
3 In these lay a great multitude of those who were sick, blind, lame, or paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water;
4 for an angel of the Lord went down at certain times into the pool, and stirred up the water. Whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was made whole of whatever disease he had.
5 A certain man was there, who had been sick for thirty-eight years.
6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he had been sick for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to be made well?”

Naša vera premaga svet
1 Kdor veruje, da je Jezus res Mesija, je rojen iz Boga; in vsak, kdor ljubi tistega, ki rodi, ljubi tudi tistega, ki je od njega rojen. 2 Da ljubimo Božje otroke, pa spoznamo po tem, če ljubimo Boga in izpolnjujemo njegove zapovedi. 3 To je Božja ljubezen, da se držimo njegovih zapovedi. In njegove zapovedi niso težke, 4 kajti vse, kar je rojeno iz Boga, premaga svet. In zmaga, ki premaga svet, je naša vera. 5 Kdo premaga svet, če ne tisti, ki veruje, da je Jezus Božji Sin?
Pričevanje za Sina
6 Jezus Kristus je tisti, ki je prišel z vodo in s krvjo, ne le z vodo, ampak z vodo in s krvjo. Duh to pričuje, kajti Duh je resnica.
