12 Immediately the Spirit drove him out into the wilderness.
13 He was there in the wilderness forty days tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals; and the angels were ministering to him.
14 Now after John was taken into custody, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God,
15 and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the Kingdom of God is at hand! Repent, and believe in the Gospel.”

12 Takoj nato ga je Duh odvedel v puščavo. 13 V puščavi je bil štirideset dni in satan ga je skušal. Bil je med zvermi in angeli so mu stregli.

14 Ko pa je bil Janez izročen, je šel Jezus v Galilejo. Oznanjal je Božji evangelij 15 in govoril: »Čas se je dopolnil in Božje kraljestvo se je približalo. Spreobrnite se in verujte evangeliju!«

8 God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,
9 “As for me, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring after you,
10 and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every animal of the earth with you. Of all that go out of the ark, even every animal of the earth.
11 I will establish my covenant with you; neither will all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of the flood; neither will there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.”
12 God said, “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
13 I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be for a sign of a covenant between me and the earth.
14 It will happen, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the rainbow will be seen in the cloud,
15 and I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh, and the waters will no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

8 Potem je Bog rekel Noetu in njegovim sinovom: 9 »Glejte, zavezo sklepam z vami in vašim potomstvom, ki pride za vami, 10 pa tudi z vsemi živimi bitji, ki so pri vas: s pticami, z živino in z vsemi zvermi zemlje, ki so pri vas, z vsemi, ki so prišle iz ladje. 11 Tako sklepam zavezo z vami in ne bom več iztrebil vsega mesa z vodami potopa. Ne bo več potopa, ki bi opustošil zemljo.«
12 Bog je rekel: »To je znamenje zaveze, ki jo sklepam med seboj in vami in med vsemi živimi bitji, ki so pri vas, za vse prihodnje rodove. 13 Svojo mavrico postavljam v oblake in bo v znamenje zaveze med menoj in zemljo. 14 In kadar bom zbral oblake nad zemljo in se bo v oblakih prikazala mavrica, 15 tedaj se bom spomnil svoje zaveze, ki je med menoj in vami in vsemi živimi bitji in vsem mesom; vode ne bodo nikoli več narasle v potop, da bi iztrebile vse meso.

18 Because Christ also suffered for sins once, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring you to God; being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit;
19 in which he also went and preached to the spirits in prison,
20 who before were disobedient, when God waited patiently in the days of Noah, while the ark was being built. In it, few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.
21 This is a symbol of baptism, which now saves you-- not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,
22 who is at the right hand of God, having gone into heaven, angels and authorities and powers being made subject to him.

18 Sicer pa je tudi Kristus trpel zaradi grehov, in sicer enkrat za vselej, pravični za krivične, da bi vas pripeljal k Bogu. Res je bil po mesu umorjen, a po Duhu je bil oživljen. 19 V tem Duhu je šel in oznanjal tudi duhovom, ki so bili v ječi, 20 tistim, ki v dneh, ko je Noe gradil ladjo, niso bili pokorni, ko jih je Bog nadvse potrpežljivo čakal. A v ladji se jih je po vodi rešilo le malo, natančno osem duš. 21 Ta voda pa je podoba krsta, ki zdaj odrešuje vas. Ne odstranjuje madežev z mesa, ampak zaradi vstajenja Jezusa Kristusa prosi Boga za dobro vest. 22 Ta je šel v nebesa in je na Božji desnici in so mu podrejeni angeli in oblasti in moči.
