6 1 He went out from there. He came into his own country, and his disciples followed him. 2 When the Sabbath had come, he began to teach in the synagogue, and many hearing him were astonished, saying, “Where did this man get these things?” and, “What is the wisdom that is given to this man, that such mighty works come about by his hands? 3 Isn’t this the carpenter, the son of Mary, and brother of James, Joses, Judas, and Simon? Aren’t his sisters here with us?” They were offended at him. 4 Jesus said to them, “A prophet is not without honor, except in his own country, and among his own relatives, and in his own house.” 5 He could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people, and healed them. 6 He marveled because of their unbelief. He went around the villages teaching.

V Nazaretu Jezusa zavržejo

1 Šel je od tam in prišel v svoj domači kraj. Spremljali so ga njegovi učenci. 2 Ko je prišla sobota, je začel učitije-zacel-uciti v shodnici. Mnogi, ki so ga poslušali, so začudeni govorili: »Od kod njemu to? Kakšna je ta modrost, ki mu je dana? In kakšna mogočna dela se godijo po njegovih rokah! 3 Ali ni to tisti tesar, sin Marije in brat Jakoba, Jozéja, Juda in Simona? Mar njegove sestre niso tu, pri nas?« In spotikali so se nad njim. 4 Jezus pa jim je govoril: »Prerok ni brez časti, razen v domačem kraju, pri svojih sorodnikih in v svoji hiši.« 5 In ni mogel tam storiti nobenega mogočnega dela, samo na nekaj bolnikov je položil roke in jih ozdravil. 6 In čudil se je njihovi neveri.
Jezus pošlje dvanajstere
Obhodil je vasi v okolici in učil.

4 You have not yet resisted to blood, striving against sin; 5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which reasons with you as with children, “My son, don’t take lightly the chastening of the Lord, Nor faint when you are reproved by him; 6 For whom the Lord loves, he chastens, And scourges every son whom he receives.” 7 It is for discipline that you endure. God deals with you as with children, for what son is there whom his father doesn’t discipline? 11 All chastening seems for the present to be not joyous but grievous; yet afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been exercised thereby. 12 Therefore, lift up the hands that hang down and the feeble knees, 13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that which is lame may not be dislocated, but rather be healed. 14 Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord, 15 looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby the many be defiled;

4 Niste se še do krvi uprli v boju zoper greh. 5 Pozabili ste na spodbudo, ki vam govori kakor sinovom:
Moj sin, ne zaničuj Gospodove vzgoje
in ne omaguj, kadar te kara.
6 Kogar namreč Gospod ljubi, tega vzgaja,
in tepe vsakega sina, ki ga sprejema.
7 Ko vas vzgaja, zdržite, saj Bog ravna z vami kakor s sinovi. Kje je namreč sin, ki ga oče ne bi strogo vzgajal?

11 Nobeno vzgajanje pa v tistem trenutku ni prijetno, ampak bridko. Pozneje pa daje tistim, ki jih je izurilo, miren sad pravičnosti. 12 Zato zravnajte onemogle roke in klecava kolena in 13 za svoje noge napravite ravne steze, da se to, kar šepa, ne bo izvinilo, marveč bo ozdravelo.

Ne zavračajmo Božje milosti
14 Prizadevajte si za mir z vsemi in za posvečenost. Brez nje nihče ne bo videl Gospoda. 15 Pazite, da nihče ne ostane brez Božje milosti, da ne bo pognala nobena grenka korenina, ki bi povzročila zmedo in bi se z njo mnogi omadeževali.

1 Davidov psalm.
Slávi, moja duša, GOSPODA,
vsa moja notranjost njegovo sveto ime.
2 Slávi, moja duša, GOSPODA,
ne pozabi nobenega dejanja njega,

13 Kakor oče izkazuje usmiljenje nad otroki,
GOSPOD izkazuje usmiljenje nad tistimi, ki se ga bojijo.
14 Zakaj on pozna našo sestavo,
spominja se, da smo prah.
