26 He said, “The Kingdom of God is as if a man should cast seed on the earth, 27 and should sleep and rise night and day, and the seed should spring up and grow, he doesn’t know how. 28 For the earth bears fruit: first the blade, then the ear, then the full grain in the ear. 29 But when the fruit is ripe, immediately he puts forth the sickle, because the harvest has come.” 30 He said, “How will we liken the Kingdom of God? Or with what parable will we illustrate it? 31 It’s like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, though it is less than all the seeds that are on the earth, 32 yet when it is sown, grows up, and becomes greater than all the herbs, and puts out great branches, so that the birds of the sky can lodge under its shadow.” 33 With many such parables he spoke the word to them, as they were able to hear it. 34 Without a parable he didn’t speak to them; but privately to his own disciples he explained all things.

26 In govoril je: »Z Božjim kraljestvom je kakor s človekom, ki vrže seme v zemljo. 27 Spi in vstaja, ponoči in podnevi, seme pa klije in raste, seme-pa-klije-in-rasteda sam ne ve kako. 28 Zemlja sama od sebe poraja najprej bilko, nato klas in končno žito v klasu. 29 Ko pa sad dozori, hitro zamahne s srpom, kajti prišla je žetev.«
Prilika o gorčičnem zrnu
30 In govoril je: »Kako naj ponazorimo Božje kraljestvo in s kakšno priliko naj ga predstavimo? 31 Takšno je kot gorčično zrno, ki je takrat, ko se vseje v zemljo, manjše od vseh semen na zemlji. 32 Ko pa je vsejano, raste in postane večje od vseh zelišč in naredi velike veje, tako da morejo ptice neba gnezditi v njegovi senci.«
Zakaj v prilikah
33 V mnogih takih prilikah jim je govoril besedo, kakor so jo pač mogli poslušati. 34 Brez prilike pa jim ni govoril; a svojim učencem je posebej vse razlagal.

32 But remember the former days, in which, after you were enlightened, you endured a great struggle with sufferings; 33 partly, being exposed to both reproaches and oppressions; and partly, becoming partakers with those who were treated so. 34 For you both had compassion on me in my chains, and joyfully accepted the plundering of your possessions, knowing that you have for yourselves a better possession and an enduring one in the heavens. 35 Therefore don’t throw away your boldness, which has a great reward. 36 For you need endurance so that, having done the will of God, you may receive the promise. 37 “In a very little while, He who comes will come, and will not wait. 38 But the righteous will live by faith. If he shrinks back, my soul has no pleasure in him.” 39 But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the saving of the soul.

32 Spomnite se prejšnjih dni. Potem ko ste bili razsvetljeni, že ste v trpljenju prestali velik boj. 33 Zdaj ste bili javno izpostavljeni sramotenjem in stiskam, zdaj ste bili tovariši tistih, ki jih je to zadelo. 34 Tudi z vklenjenimi ste sočustvovali. Z veseljem ste prenesli, da so vam pobrali imetje, ker ste vedeli, da imate boljšo in neminljivo posest. 35 Ne zavržite torej svoje zaupnosti, ki jo čaka veliko plačilo. 36 Samo stanovitnost vam je potrebna, pa boste izpolnili Božjo voljo in tako dosegli, kar je obljubljeno.
37 Zakaj še malo, prav malo
in prišel bo ta, ki prihaja, in ne bo odlašal.
38 Moj pravični bo živel iz vere.
In: Če pa se odtegne,
moja duša nad njim nima veselja.
39 Mi pa nismo med tistimi, ki bi odstopali in se tako pogubili, temveč med tistimi, ki verujejo in tako rešijo dušo.

3 Trust in Yahweh, and do good. Dwell in the land, and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Also delight yourself in Yahweh, And he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteousness go forth as the light, And your justice as the noon day sun. 23 A man’s goings are established by Yahweh. He delights in his way. 24 Though he stumble, he shall not fall, For Yahweh holds him up with his hand. 39 But the salvation of the righteous is from Yahweh. He is their stronghold in the time of trouble. 40 Yahweh helps them, and rescues them. He rescues them from the wicked, and saves them, Because they have taken refuge in him.

3 Zaupaj v GOSPODA in delaj dobro,
prebivaj v deželi in se pasi v zaupanju.
4 Razveseljuj se v GOSPODU,
pa ti bo dal, kar želi tvoje srce.
5 Izroči svojo pot GOSPODU,
zaupaj vanj, in on bo storil.
6 Dal bo, da tvoja pravičnost zasije kakor luč,
tvoja pravica kakor poldan.

23 Zaradi GOSPODA so koraki moža trdni,
nad njegovo potjo ima veselje.
24 Če pade, ne obstane na tleh,
ker GOSPOD podpira njegovo roko.

39 Rešitev pravičnih prihaja od GOSPODA,
njihovega zavetja ob času stiske.
40 GOSPOD jim pomaga in jih osvobaja,
osvobaja jih krivičnih in jih rešuje,
ker se zatekajo k njemu.
