13 He went out again by the seaside. All the multitude came to him, and he taught them.
14 As he passed by, he saw Levi, the son of Alphaeus, sitting at the tax office, and he said to him, “Follow me.” And he arose and followed him.
15 It happened, that he was reclining at the table in his house, and many tax collectors and sinners sat down with Jesus and his disciples, for there were many, and they followed him.
16 The scribes and the Pharisees, when they saw that he was eating with the sinners and tax collectors, said to his disciples, “Why is it that he eats and drinks with tax collectors and sinners?”
17 When Jesus heard it, he said to them, “Those who are healthy have no need for a physician, but those who are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”

13 Spet je odšel k jezeru. Vse ljudstvo je prihajalo k njemu in jih je učil. 14 Spotoma je zagledal Levija, Alfejevega sina, ki je sedèl pri mitnici, in mu rekel: »Hôdi za menoj!« In ta je vstal in šel za njim. 15 In ko je bil pri mizi v njegovi hiši, je veliko cestninarjev in grešnikov sedelo z Jezusom in njegovimi učenci; bilo jih je namreč veliko in so hodili za njim. 16 Ko so pismouki med farizeji videli, da jé z grešniki in cestninarji, so rekli njegovim učencem: »Kako to, da jé s cestninarji in grešniki?« 17 Jezus je to slišal in jim rekel: »Ne potrebujejo zdravnika zdravi, ampak bolni. Nisem prišel klicat pravičnih, ampak grešnike.«

12 For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and is able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13 There is no creature that is hidden from his sight, but all things are naked and laid open before the eyes of him with whom we have to do.
14 Having then a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold tightly to our confession.
15 For we don’t have a high priest who can’t be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin.
16 Let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.

12 Božja beseda je namreč živa in dejavna, ostrejša kakor vsak dvorezen meč in zareže do ločitve duše in duha, sklepov in mozga ter presoja vzgibe in misli srca. 13 Ni je namreč stvari, ki bi bila nevidna pred njim. Pred njegovimi očmi je vse razgaljeno in odkrito. Njemu bomo dajali odgovor.
Jezus je najvišji véliki duhovnik
14 Trdno se torej držimo veroizpovedi, ker imamo veličastnega vélikega duhovnika, ki je šel skozi nebesa, Jezusa, Božjega Sina. 15 Nimamo namreč vélikega duhovnika, ki ne bi mogel sočustvovati z našimi slabostmi, marveč takega, ki je kakor mi preizkušan v vsem, vendar brez greha. 16 Bližajmo se torej z zaupnostjo prestolu milosti, da bomo dosegli usmiljenje in našli milost, ki nam bo v pravem trenutku pomagala.

poživlja dušo;
GOSPODOVO pričevanje je zanesljivo,
nevednega dela modrega.
9 GOSPODOVI ukazi so pravi,
razveseljujejo srce;
GOSPODOVA zapoved je jasna,
razsvetljuje oči.
10 GOSPODOV strah je čist,
ostaja na veke;
GOSPODOVE sodbe so resnica,
vse skupaj pravične.
