40 There came to him a leper, begging him, kneeling down to him, and saying to him, “If you want to, you can make me clean.”
41 Being moved with compassion, he stretched out his hand, and touched him, and said to him, “I want to. Be made clean.”
42 When he had said this, immediately the leprosy departed from him, and he was made clean.
43 He strictly warned him, and immediately sent him out,
44 and said to him, “See you say nothing to anybody, but go show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing the things which Moses commanded, for a testimony to them.”
45 But he went out, and began to proclaim it much, and to spread about the matter, so that Jesus could no more openly enter into a city, but was outside in desert places: and they came to him from everywhere.

40 K njemu je prišel gobavec in ga na kolenih prosil: »Če hočeš, me moreš očistiti.« 41 Zasmilil se mu je, iztegnil je roko, se ga dotaknil in mu rekel: »Hočem, bodi očiščen!« 42 Gobe so takoj izginile in bil je očiščen. 43 Jezus ga je brž jezno poslal ven in mu rekel: 44 »Glej, da nikomur nič ne poveš, ampak pojdi, pokaži se duhovniku in daruj za svoje očiščenje, kar je zapovedal Mojzes, njim v pričevanje.« 45 Ko pa je ta šel ven, je začel na vsa usta oznanjati in pripovedovati, kaj se je zgodilo, tako da Jezus ni več mogel v mesto odkrito, ampak je bival zunaj na samotnih krajih. In vendar so od vsepovsod prihajali k njemu.

7 Therefore, even as the Holy Spirit says,
“Today if you will hear his voice,
8 Don’t harden your hearts, as in the provocation,
Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,
9 Where your fathers tested me by proving me,
And saw my works for forty years.
10 Therefore I was displeased with that generation,
And said, ‘They always err in their heart,
But they didn’t know my ways;’
11 As I swore in my wrath,
‘They will not enter into my rest.’”
12 Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God;
13 but exhort one another day by day, so long as it is called “today;” lest any one of you be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm to the end:

Počitek za Božje ljudstvo
7 Zato – kakor govori Sveti Duh:
Če danes zaslišite njegov glas,
8 ne zakrknite svojih src kakor ob uporu,
kakor na dan preizkušnje v puščavi,
9 kjer so me vaši očetje preizkušali, me preverjali,
čeprav so 10 štirideset let gledali moja dela.
Zato sem težko prenašal ta rod
in rekel: »Vedno blodijo v srcu,
niso spoznali mojih poti.«
11 Tako sem prisegel v svoji jezi:
»Ne bodo stopili v moj počitek.«
12 Pazíte, bratje, da v katerem med vami ne bo hudobnega in nevernega srca in bi odstopil od živega Boga. 13 Nasprotno, iz dneva v dan drug drugega spodbujajte, dokler še lahko rečemo »danes«, da ne bi kdo med vami zakrknil, ker bi ga prevaral greh. 14 Kristusa smo namreč deležni, če bomo obstoj, ki smo ga prejeli na začetku, ohranili neomajen do konca,

6 Oh come, let’s worship and bow down.
Let’s kneel before Yahweh, our Maker,
7 For he is our God.
We are the people of his pasture,
And the sheep in his care.
Today, oh that you would hear his voice!
8 Don’t harden your heart, as at Meribah,
As in the day of Massah in the wilderness,
9 When your fathers tempted me,
Tested me, and saw my work.
10 Forty long years I was grieved with that generation,
And said, “It is a people that errs in their heart.
They have not known my ways.”
11 Therefore I swore in my wrath,
“They won’t enter into my rest.”

6 Pridite, padimo na kolena in se priklonimo,
pokleknimo pred GOSPODOM, ki nas je naredil.
7 Zakaj on je naš Bog, mi ljudstvo njegove paše,
čreda njegove roke.
Ko bi danes poslušali njegov glas!
8 Ne zakrknite svojih src kakor v Meríbi,
kakor na dan Mase v puščavi,
9 kjer so me vaši očetje skušali,
me preizkušali, čeprav so videli moje delovanje.
10 Štirideset let se mi je ta rod studil,
pa sem rekel: »Ti so ljudstvo, ki se moti v srcu,
ti ne poznajo mojih poti.«

»Ne bodo stopili v moj počitek.«
