21 They went into Capernaum, and immediately on the Sabbath day he entered into the synagogue and taught.
22 They were astonished at his teaching, for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
23 Immediately there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit, and he cried out,
24 saying, “Ha! What do we have to do with you, Jesus, you Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know you who you are: the Holy One of God!”
25 Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”
26 The unclean spirit, convulsing him and crying with a loud voice, came out of him.
27 They were all amazed, so that they questioned among themselves, saying, “What is this? A new teaching? For with authority he commands even the unclean spirits, and they obey him!”
28 The report of him went out immediately everywhere into all the region of Galilee and its surrounding area.

Mož z nečistim duhom
21 Prišli so v Kafarnáum. Takoj v soboto je šel v shodnico in učil. 22 Strmeli so nad njegovim naukom, kajti učil jih je kakor nekdo, ki ima oblast, in ne kakor pismouki. 23 V njihovi shodnici pa je bil prav tedaj človek z nečistim duhom in je zavpil: 24 »Kaj imamo s teboj, Jezus Nazarečan? Si nas prišel pokončat? Vem, kdo si: Sveti, Božji.« 25 Jezus pa mu je zapovedal: »Umolkni in pojdi iz njega!« 26 Nečisti duh ga je stresel, zavpil z močnim glasom in šel iz njega. 27 Vsi so se tako začudili, da so razpravljali med seboj: »Kaj je to? Nov nauk z oblastjo! Celo nečistim duhovom ukazuje in so mu pokorni.« 28 In glas o njem se je takoj razširil po vsej okolici Galileje.

5 For he didn’t subject the world to come, of which we speak, to angels.
6 But one has somewhere testified, saying,
“What is man, that you think of him?
Or the son of man, that you care for him?
7 You made him a little lower than the angels;
You crowned him with glory and honor. TR adds “and set him over the works of your hands”
8 You have put all things in subjection under his feet.”
For in that he subjected all things to him, he left nothing that is not subject to him. But now we don’t see all things subjected to him, yet.
9 But we see him who has been made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God he should taste of death for everyone.
10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”,
12 saying,
“I will declare your name to my brothers.
In the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.”

Začetnik odrešenja
5 Prihodnjega sveta, o katerem govorimo, namreč ni podredil angelom, 6 kajti nekje je nekdo pričeval:
Kaj je človek, da se ga spominjaš,
sin človekov, da ga obiskuješ?
7 Naredil si ga malo nižjega od angelov,
s slavo in častjo si ga ovenčal
8 vse si položil pod njegove noge.
Ko mu je namreč vse podvrgel, ni pustil ničesar, kar mu ne bi bilo podvrženo. Zdaj sicer še ne vidimo, da mu je vse podvrženo. 9 Gledamo pa njega, ki je bil postavljen malo nižje od angelov, Jezusa, kako je ovenčan s slavo in častjo, ker je pretrpel smrt, da bi po Božji milosti okusil smrt za vsakogar.
10 On, za katerega je vse in po katerem je vse, je namreč veliko sinov pripeljal v slavo. Zato se je spodobilo, da je tistega, ki je začetnik njihovega odrešenja, izpopolnil s trpljenjem. 11 Vsi so namreč iz enega, tisti, ki posvečuje, in tisti, ki so posvečeni. Zato ga ni sram, da jih imenuje brate, 12 ko pravi:
Oznanjal bom tvoje ime svojim bratom,
sredi zbora te bom hvalil,

7 All sheep and oxen,
Yes, and the animals of the field,
8 The birds of the sky, the fish of the sea,
And whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9 Yahweh, our Lord,
How majestic is your name in all the earth!

kako čudovito je tvoje ime po vsej zemlji!
Svoje veličastvo si povzdignil nad nebesa.

5 Kaj je človek, da se ga spominjaš,
sin človekov, da ga obiskuješ?
6 Naredil si ga malo nižjega od Boga,
s slavo in častjo si ga ovenčal.
7 Dal si mu oblast nad deli svojih rok,
vse si položil pod njegove noge:
8 vse ovce in goveda,
in tudi poljske živali,
9 ptice neba in ribe morja,
vse, kar se giblje po morskih stezah.
