26 Now in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee, named Nazareth,
27 to a virgin pledged to be married to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary.
28 Having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, you highly favored one! The Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women!”
29 But when she saw him, she was greatly troubled at the saying, and considered what kind of salutation this might be.
30 The angel said to her, “Don’t be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
31 Behold, you will conceive in your womb, and bring forth a son, and will call his name ‘Jesus.’
32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father, David,
33 and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever. There will be no end to his Kingdom.”
34 Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, seeing I am a virgin?”
35 The angel answered her, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. Therefore also the holy one who is born from you will be called the Son of God.
36 Behold, Elizabeth, your relative, also has conceived a son in her old age; and this is the sixth month with her who was called barren.
37 For everything spoken by God is possible.”
38 Mary said, “Behold, the handmaid of the Lord; be it to me according to your word.”
The angel departed from her.

Napoved Jezusovega rojstva
26 V šestem mesecu je Bog poslal angela Gabriela v galilejsko mesto Nazaret, 27 k devici, zaročeni z možem, ki mu je bilo ime Jožef, iz Davidove hiše, in devici je bilo ime Marija. 28 Angel je vstopil k njej in rekel: »Pozdravljena, obdarjena z milostjo, Gospod je s teboj!« 29 Pri teh besedah se je vznemirila in premišljevala, kakšen pozdrav je to. 30 Angel ji je rekel: »Ne boj se, Marija, kajti našla si milost pri Bogu. 31 Glej, spočela boš in rodila sina, in daj mu ime Jezus. 32 Ta bo velik in se bo imenoval Sin Najvišjega. Gospod Bog mu bo dal prestol njegovega očeta Davida 33 in kraljeval bo v Jakobovi hiši vekomaj; in njegovemu kraljestvu ne bo konca.« 34 Marija pa je rekla angelu: »Kako se bo to zgodilo, ko ne poznam moža?« 35 Angel ji je odgovoril: »Sveti Duh bo prišel nadte in moč Najvišjega te bo obsenčila, zato se bo tudi Sveto, ki bo rojeno, imenovalo Božji Sin. 36 Glej, tudi tvoja sorodnica Elizabeta je spočela sina v starosti; in to je šesti mesec njej, ki so jo imenovali nerodovitno. 37 Bogu namreč ni nič nemogoče.« 38 Marija pa je rekla: »Glej, Gospodova služabnica sem, zgôdi se mi po tvoji besedi!« In angel je šel od nje.

1 Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me: and, behold, he formed locusts in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, behold, it was the latter growth after the king’s harvest.
2 It happened that, when they made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, “Lord Yahweh, forgive, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”
3 Yahweh relented concerning this. “It shall not be,” says Yahweh.
4 Thus the Lord Yahweh showed me and, behold, the Lord Yahweh called for judgment by fire; and it dried up the great deep, and would have devoured the land.
5 Then I said, “Lord Yahweh, stop, I beg you! How could Jacob stand? For he is small.”
8 Yahweh said to me, “Amos, what do you see?”
I said, “A plumb line.”
Then the Lord said, “Behold, I will set a plumb line in the midst of my people Israel. I will not again pass by them any more.
9 The high places of Isaac will be desolate, the sanctuaries of Israel will be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.”
10 Then Amaziah the priest of Beth El sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel. The land is not able to bear all his words.
11 For Amos says, ‘Jeroboam will die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of his land.’”
12 Amaziah also said to Amos, “You seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:
14 Then Amos answered Amaziah, “I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet’s son; but I was a herdsman, and a farmer of sycamore trees;
16 Now therefore listen to the word of Yahweh: ‘You say, Don’t prophesy against Israel, and don’t preach against the house of Isaac.’

Natánova prerokba
1 Ko je kralj prebival v svoji hiši in mu je GOSPOD naklonil mir pred vsemi njegovimi sovražniki naokrog, 2 je kralj rekel preroku Natánu: »Glej vendar, jaz stanujem v cedrovi hiši, skrinja Božja pa stanuje sredi šotorskega pregrinjala.« 3 Natán je rekel kralju: »Pojdi, stori vse, kar je v tvojem srcu, kajti GOSPOD je s teboj!«
4 A še tisto noč se je Natánu zgodila GOSPODOVA beseda, rekoč: 5 »Pojdi in povej mojemu služabniku Davidu: Tako govori GOSPOD: Mi boš mar ti zidal hišo za stanovanje?

| 8 Zdaj torej tako povej mojemu služabniku Davidu: Tako govori GOSPOD nad vojskami: Jaz sem te vzel s pašnika izza drobnice, da bi bil vladar mojemu ljudstvu Izraelu. 9 Bil sem s teboj, kjer koli si hodil, in sem iztrebil pred teboj vse tvoje sovražnike. Naredil ti bom veliko ime, ki bo enako imenu velikašev na zemlji. 10 Določil bom kraj svojemu ljudstvu Izraelu in ga zasadil vanj, da bo prebivalo na svojem in se mu ne bo treba več bati in ga krivičneži ne bodo več stiskali kakor nekdaj, 11 od dneva, ko sem postavil sodnike čez svoje ljudstvo Izraela. Naklonil ti bom mir pred vsemi tvojimi sovražniki. GOSPODOSP ti oznanja, da ti bo GOSPOD naredil hišo. 12 Ko se ti dopolnijo dnevi in boš legel k svojim očetom, bom povzdignil tvojega potomca, ki bo izšel iz tvojega telesa, in bom utrdil njegovo kraljestvo. |
| 14 Jaz mu bom oče in on mi bo sin. Če se pregreši, ga bom kaznoval s človeško šibo in z udarci človeških sinov. |
| 16 Tvoja hiša in tvoje kraljestvo bosta obstala pred teboj na veke in tvoj prestol bo utrjen na veke.« |

4 Zavezo sem sklenil s svojim izvoljencem,
prisegel sem Davidu, svojemu služabniku:
5 »Tvoj zarod bom ustanovil za vedno,
za vse rodove bom postavil tvoj prestol.«

25 Njemu pa, ki vas more po mojem evangeliju in po oznanjevanju Jezusa Kristusa utrditi – v skladu z razodetjem skrivnosti, ki je bila zamolčana skozi večne čase, 26 a je bila zdaj razodeta in je po ukazu večnega Boga oznanjena v preroških Pismih vsem narodom, da bi bili poslušni veri -, 27 Bogu, ki je edini moder, po Jezusu Kristusu slava na veke. Amen.
