›Piskali smo vam, pa niste plesali;
peli smo žalostinko, pa se niste tolkli po prsih.‹
18 Prišel je namreč Janez, ki ni jedel in ne pil, pa pravijo: ›Demona ima.‹ 19 Prišel je Sin človekov, ki jé in pije, pa pravijo: ›Glej, požrešnež je in pijanec, prijatelj cestninarjev in grešnikov;‹ in modrost je bila opravičena po svojih delih.«

17 Tako govori GOSPOD,
tvoj odkupitelj, Sveti Izraelov:
Jaz sem GOSPOD, tvoj Bog,
ki te učim, kar ti koristi,
ki te vodim po poti, po kateri moraš hoditi.
18 O da bi bil pazil na moje zapovedi!
Tedaj bi bil tvoj mir kakor reka,
tvoja pravičnost kakor morski valovi.
19 Tvojega zaroda bi bilo kakor peska
in potomcev tvojega rodu kakor njegovih zrn.
Njegovo ime bi ne bilo iztrebljeno,
bi ne bilo izbrisano izpred mojega obličja.

PSALM 1
Dvoje poti življenja

1 Blagor človeku,
ki ne hodi na posvet krivičnikov,
ne stopa na pot grešnikov
in ne seda na klop porogljivcev,
2 temveč se veseli v GOSPODOVI postavi
in premišljuje njegovo postavo podnevi in ponoči.
3 Tak je kakor drevo,
zasajeno ob potokih voda,
ki daje svoj sad ob svojem času
in njegovo listje ne ovene;
vse, kar dela, uspeva.


4 S krivičniki ni tako,
temveč so kakor pleve,
ki jih veter raznaša.

6 Zakaj GOSPOD pozna pot pravičnih,
pot krivičnih pa vodi v pogubo.
