21 In that same hour Jesus rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to little children. Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight.”
22 Turning to the disciples, he said, “All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows who the Son is, except the Father, and who the Father is, except the Son, and he to whomever the Son desires to reveal him.”
23 Turning to the disciples, he said privately, “Blessed are the eyes which see the things that you see,
24 for I tell you that many prophets and kings desired to see the things which you see, and didn’t see them, and to hear the things which you hear, and didn’t hear them.”

21 Prav tisto uro se je razveselil v Svetem Duhu in rekel: »Slavim te, Oče, Gospod neba in zemlje, ker si to prikril modrim in razumnim, razodel pa otročičem. Da, Oče, kajti tako ti je bilo všeč. 22 Vse mi je izročil moj Oče. Nihče ne spoznava, kdo je Sin, razen Očeta, in nihče, kdo je Oče, razen Sina in tistega, komur hoče Sin razodeti.« 23 Tedaj se je obrnil k učencem in jim na samem rekel: »Blagor očem, ki vidijo, kar vi gledate! 24 Povem vam namreč: Veliko prerokov in kraljev je hotelo videti, kar vi gledate, pa niso videli, in slišati, kar vi poslušate, pa niso slišali.«

1 A shoot will come out of the stock of Jesse,
And a branch out of his roots will bear fruit.
2 The Spirit of Yahweh will rest on him:
The spirit of wisdom and understanding,
The spirit of counsel and might,
The spirit of knowledge and of the fear of Yahweh.
3 His delight will be in the fear of Yahweh.
He will not judge by the sight of his eyes,
Neither decide by the hearing of his ears;
4 But with righteousness he will judge the poor,
And decide with equity for the humble of the earth.
He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth;
And with the breath of his lips he will kill the wicked.
5 Righteousness will be the belt of his waist,
And faithfulness the belt of his waist.
6 The wolf will live with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat;
The calf, the young lion, and the fattened calf together;
And a little child will lead them.
7 The cow and the bear will graze.
Their young ones will lie down together.
The lion will eat straw like the ox.
8 The nursing child will play near a cobra's hole,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.
9 They will not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain;
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of Yahweh,
As the waters cover the sea.
10 It will happen in that day that the nations will seek the root of Jesse, who stands as a banner of the peoples; and his resting place will be glorious.

Mesija bo Davidov sin
1 Mladika požene iz Jesejeve korenike,
poganjek obrodi iz njegove korenine.
2 Na njem bo počival GOSPODOV duh:
duh modrosti in razumnosti,
duh svéta in moči,
duh spoznanja in strahu GOSPODOVEGA.
3 Navdihoval ga bo s strahom GOSPODOVIM,
da ne bo sodil po videzu svojih oči,
ne odločal po sluhu svojih ušes.
4 Pravično bo sodil siromake,
pošteno bo branil stiskane v deželi.
Udarjal bo deželo s šibo svojih ust,
z dihom svojih ustnic bo pokončeval krivičnika.
5 Pravičnost bo pas njegovih ledij,
zvestoba bo pas njegovih kolkov.
Kraljestvo miru
6 Volk bo prebival z jagnjetom
in panter bo ležal s kozličem.
Teliček in levič se bosta skupaj redila,
majhen deček ju bo poganjal.
7 Krava in medvedka se bosta skupaj pasli,
njuni mladiči bodo skupaj ležali
in lev bo jedel slamo kakor govedo.
8 Dojenček se bo igral nad gadjo luknjo
in odstavljeni bo iztezal svojo roko
v modrasjo odprtino.
9 Ne bodo škodovali ne uničevali
na vsej moji sveti gori,
kajti dežela bo polna GOSPODOVEGA spoznanja,
kakor vode pokrivajo morsko globino.
Izgnanci se bodo vrnili
10 Tisti dan bo Jesejeva korenina stala kot znamenje za ljudstva, njo bodo iskali narodi in njeno bivališče bo slavno.

1 God, give the king your justice;
Your righteousness to the royal son.
2 He will judge your people with righteousness,
And your poor with justice.
7 In his days, the righteous shall flourish,
And abundance of peace, until the moon is no more.
8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea,
From the River to the ends of the earth.

Kralj miru in njegovo kraljestvo
1 Salomonov psalm.
O Bog, daj svoje sodbe kralju,
svojo pravičnost kraljevemu sinu.
2 Naj sodi tvoje ljudstvo po pravičnosti,
tvoje nesrečnike po pravici.

7 V njegovih dneh naj cveti pravični
in obilje miru, dokler ne ugasne luna.
8 Naj vlada od morja do morja,
od veletoka do koncev zemlje.
