54 He said to the multitudes also, “When you see a cloud rising from the west, immediately you say, ‘A shower is coming,’ and so it happens.
55 When a south wind blows, you say, ‘There will be a scorching heat,’ and it happens.
56 You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky, but how is it that you don’t interpret this time?
57 Why don’t you judge for yourselves what is right?
58 For when you are going with your adversary before the magistrate, try diligently on the way to be released from him, lest perhaps he drag you to the judge, and the judge deliver you to the officer, and the officer throw you into prison.
59 I tell you, you will by no means get out of there, until you have paid the very last penny. Literally, lepton. A lepton is a very small brass Jewish coin worth half a Roman quadrans each, which is worth a quarter of the copper assarion. Lepta are worth less than 1% of an agricultural worker’s daily wages.”

54 Tudi množicam je govoril: »Kadar vidite, da se na zahodu dviga oblak, takoj pravite: ›Dež prihaja,‹ in tako se zgodi. 55 Kadar pa piha jug, pravite: ›Vročina bo,‹ in je res. 56 Hinavci! Obličje zemlje in neba znate presojati, kako da ne znate presojati tega časa?«

57 »Zakaj tudi sami od sebe ne presojate, kaj je prav? 58 Kadar greš s svojim nasprotnikom k oblastniku, med potjo stôri vse, da se pobotaš z njim in te ne privleče pred sodnika. Sodnik te bo izročil pazniku, paznik pa vrgel v ječo. 59 Povem ti: Ne prideš od tam, dokler ne plačaš vse do zadnjega novčiča.«

3 being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as you also were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
6 one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in us all.

A Psalm by David.
1 The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness;
The world, and those who dwell therein.
2 For he has founded it on the seas,
And established it on the floods.
3 Who may ascend to Yahweh’s hill?
Who may stand in his holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart;
Who has not lifted up his soul to falsehood,
And has not sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive a blessing from Yahweh,
Righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek your face—even Jacob.

GOSPODOVA je zemlja in kar jo napolnjuje,
zemeljski krog in njegovi prebivalci.
2 Zakaj on jo je osnoval na morjih,
on jo je utrdil na veletokih.
3 Kdo se sme povzpeti na GOSPODOVO goro,
kdo sme stati na njegovem svetem kraju?
4 Tisti, ki je nedolžnih rok in čistega srca,
ki svoje duše ne vzdiguje k praznim rečem
in ne prisega na prevaro.
5 Prejel bo blagoslov od GOSPODA,
pravičnost od Boga svoje rešitve.
6 To je rod tistih, ki po njem povprašujejo,
ki iščejo tvoje obličje, Jakob.
