39 But know this, that if the master of the house had known in what hour the thief was coming, he would have watched, and not allowed his house to be broken into. 40 Therefore be ready also, for the Son of Man is coming in an hour that you don’t expect him.” 41 Peter said to him, “Lord, are you telling this parable to us, or to everybody?” 42 The Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and wise steward, whom his lord will set over his household, to give them their portion of food at the right times? 43 Blessed is that servant whom his lord will find doing so when he comes. 44 Truly I tell you, that he will set him over all that he has. 45 But if that servant says in his heart, ‘My lord delays his coming,’ and begins to beat the menservants and the maidservants, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken, 46 then the lord of that servant will come in a day when he isn’t expecting him, and in an hour that he doesn’t know, and will cut him in two, and place his portion with the unfaithful. 47 That servant, who knew his lord’s will, and didn’t prepare, nor do what he wanted, will be beaten with many stripes, 48 but he who didn’t know, and did things worthy of stripes, will be beaten with few stripes. To whoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom much was entrusted, of him more will be asked.

39 Vedite pa: Če bi hišni gospodar vedel, ob kateri uri pride tat, ne bi pustil vlomiti v svojo hišo. 40 Tudi vi bodite pripravljeni, kajti ob uri, ko ne pričakujete, bo prišel Sin človekov.«

41 Peter je rekel: »Gospod, ali pripoveduješ to priliko za nas ali za vse?« 42 Gospod je dejal: »Kdo je torej zvesti in preudarni oskrbnik, ki ga bo gospodar postavil nad svojo služinčad, da ji odmeri hrano ob pravem času? 43 Blagor tistemu služabniku, ki ga bo njegov gospodar ob prihodu našel, da tako dela! 44 Resnično, povem vam: Čez vse svoje premoženje ga bo postavil. 45 Če pa ta služabnik reče v svojem srcu: ›Moj gospodar zamuja s svojim prihodom‹ in začne pretepati hlapce in dekle, pojedati, popivati in se upijanjati, 46 bo gospodar tega služabnika prišel na dan, ko ga ne pričakuje, in ob uri, za katero ne ve; presekal ga bo na dvoje in mu dal delež z neverniki. 47 Kajti tisti služabnik, ki spozna voljo svojega gospodarja, a ničesar ne pripravi in ne dela po njegovi volji, bo hudo tepen. 48 Tisti pa, ki je ne spozna in stori kaj takega, kar zasluži udarce, bo malo tepen. Od vsakega, ki mu je bilo veliko dano, se bo veliko zahtevalo, in komur so veliko zaupali, bodo od njega toliko več terjali.«

2 if it is so that you have heard of the administration of that grace of God which was given me toward you; 3 how that by revelation the mystery was made known to me, as I wrote before in few words, 4 by which, when you read, you can perceive my understanding in the mystery of Christ; 5 which in other generations was not made known to the children of men, as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets in the Spirit; 6 that the Gentiles are fellow heirs, and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of his promise in Christ Jesus through the Gospel, 7 of which I was made a servant, according to the gift of that grace of God which was given me according to the working of his power. 8 To me, the very least of all saints, was this grace given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all men see what is the administration TR reads “fellowship” instead of “administration” of the mystery which for ages has been hidden in God, who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now through the assembly the manifold wisdom of God might be made known to the principalities and the powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which he purposed in Christ Jesus our Lord; 12 in whom we have boldness and access in confidence through our faith in him. 13 Therefore I ask that you may not lose heart at my troubles for you, which are your glory.

glede skrivnostnega načrta, ki je bil od vekov skrit v Bogu, stvarniku vsega. 10 Tako naj bi se zdaj po Cerkvi oznanila vladarstvom in oblastem v nebeških področjih mnogovrstna Božja modrost, 11 in sicer po večnem načrtu, ki ga je Bog izpeljal v Kristusu Jezusu, našem Gospodu. 12 V njem imamo srčnost in dostop v popolnem zaupanju po veri vanj. 13 Zato vas prosim, da ne postanete malodušni

ob stiskah, ki jih trpim za vas in v katerih je vaša slava.

Call on his name. Declare his doings among the peoples. Proclaim that his name is exalted! 5 Sing to Yahweh, for he has done excellent things! Let this be known in all the earth! 6 Cry aloud and shout, you inhabitant of Zion; for the Holy One of Israel is great in the midst of you!”

zaupam in se ne bojim,
kajti moja moč in moja pesem je GOSPOD BOG,
bil je moja rešitev.
3 Z veseljem boste zajemali vodo iz studencev odrešenja. 4 Tisti dan boste rekli:
Zahvaljujte se GOSPODU,
kličite njegovo ime,
oznanjajte med narodi njegova dela,
