Ko je kralj prišel pogledat goste, je opazil tam človeka, ki ni imel oblečene svatovske obleke.  Dejal mu je: ›Prijatelj, kako si prišel sem, ko nimaš svatovske obleke?‹ Ta pa je molčal.  Tedaj je kralj rekel strežnikom: ›Zvežite mu noge in roke in ga vrzite ven v najzunanjejšo temo. Tam bo jok in škripanje z zobmi.‹  Veliko je namreč poklicanih, a malo izvoljenih.«
